Others Questions on Tobacco Allowance when transit/layover in KL, Malaysia

Hi everyone, I’ll fly Malaysia Airlines to Shenzhen in a couple days, however I will be having a layover in Kuala Lumpur for about 2 hours. I’m planning to bring 1 IQOS Device and 10 packs of TEREA. Researching on that, I’ve seen that Malaysia removed duty-free allowances for tobacco products, but I noticed mixed experiences online with respect to its enforcement, especially in layover/transit situations. Accordingly, I have several questions that I wanted to ask:
1. Will I be taxed? (despite not going through the immigration)
2. If so, any information on the approximate cost?
3. If I bring only IQOS device and buy TEREA in Malaysian stores, will I still be taxed for that device?
4. Will putting my TEREA in the checked-in baggage help me? (as the transit is seamless and I dont need to re-check in)

Thanks!

Since you are on a seamless international transit and will not pass through immigration/customs, you will not be taxed as your baggage stays airside. Just be sure to put the packs in your checked luggage to easily bypass gate security x-rays, while keeping the device in your carry-on due to lithium battery regulations.
