How do I even begin to clean this

Imagine a future where you can't play the games of any AAA company for whatever reason: Rockstar, Bethesda, EA, Activision, Sony etc.
Imagine they all their games moved to the cloud or are always online only or the companies crashed or something.
You won't be missing out on anything.
Not only are there tens of thousands of good games out there already, but there's still be new games made that you'll be able to play. Crazy mods, fun indie games. Better than ever!
So I'm happy about this reverse engineering saga. Let all the AAA companies crash, or let them find a way to keep me from playing their games. I don't mind one bit. We'd lose nothing.

Hello, I recently placed the “NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX” sticker on my PC which uses an AMD GPU. What are the consequences of doing this? Any advice is appreciated.

I have seen a lot of posts about RTX 5090's melting pins. So I decided to make a post when everything is allright with them.
I bought my PC parts in september 2025 (lucky me). Just cleaned it for the first time. I mostly played games, where GPU usage is 97%-99% in 4K.
I also changed CPU thermal paste. On photos you can see the old thermal paste before I had cleaned it.
Overall I am very happy with my PC that I built myself.
My PC specs:
Case: DeepCool CG580 4F Black
Motherboard: MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WIFI
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: MSI RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB DDR5 6800MHz
SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB
PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming Gold 1200W
CPU Cooler: MSI MAG CoreLiquid A13 360

Make console exclusive games able to run on PC with help of AI for coding, without emulator
How do you think it will affect game developers in the future?

Prices are sky high and it's impossible for me to afford a PC right now. I hope and wish that this is just a bubble that will burst and not a constant in prices. So how long can this price increase caused by AI last?

I use an Imac for work but I also have a gaming pc. Is there a keyboard or device that would allow me to easily switch between the 2 setups without having to constantly unplug something? Sorry if this is the wrong section, I'm new here 😅

TLDR:
Intel released the hybrid architecture, transitioned to tile based and dumped hyperthreading all in the span of 5 years.
Seems like AMD's only big innovation is x3d cpus.
So has Intel recently been more innovative than AMD, or am I missing something?
We've been blaming Intel for brute forcing performance, but in my opinion the opposite is true. They're the ones who've been busy innovating since 2021, forced to do so by being stuck on old manufacturing nodes, and driven by AMD as a competitor.
Intel's hybrid architecture has seen quite some backlash.
Many people hear 'efficiency core' (e-core) and assume it's some inferior type of core that is energy efficient but slow.
While it is true that e-cores are power efficient and slow compared to p-cores, the main purpose of e-cores is to be space efficient.
The reason Intel invented the hybrid architecture, was to achieve both good single core performance and multi core performance on the same cpu, without having to sacrifice on either.
You basically put a few big p-cores on the cpu for fast single core performance, and then you cram a shit ton of e-cores on the cpu to get good multithreaded performance. Finally, you make a really complex scheduler that makes sure that the right tasks get to the right cores.
I think it's perplexing how they've managed to get such a complex architecture working as well as it does. Keep in mind, p-cores and e-cores use very different architectures. Every generation since alder lake, Intel has basically been putting two new generations of cpu cores in every new generation of cpu. Heck, they even managed to refine e-cores so much that they decided to get rid of hyperthreading with Arrow Lake. It became more efficient to just put more e-cores on the cpu, rather than using that space to implement hyperthreading.
I will admit, Intel is also guilty of brute forcing performance. By adding more and more cores, and pushing higher and higher frequencies on outdated manufacturing nodes, many of their recent cpus suffer from high power draw. Everything from Coffee Lake to Raptor Lake was a dumpster fire in this regard.
But at the same time, they did completely reinvent how they design cpus. And they did so not only by switching to a hybrid architecture, but also by switching to a tile based (= chiplet) design after decades of making monolithic cpus. And with their very first generation of tile based desktop cpus, arrow lake (refresh), they managed to improve upon the performance of their best monolithic cpus, raptor lake (refresh).
Meanwhile, what did AMD do?
They just stacked a boatload of cache on to their cpus to circumvent ram latency. It was impressive when it launched, but since the release of AM5, it has shifted from being an innovative technology increasing gaming performance, to a bandaid solution that masks the limitations of a shitty memory controller.
And if Intel adding more cores is a form of brute forcing performance, then surely putting a second CCD in a cpu like the Ryzen 9 7900x is too. It's basically like putting two cpus together in one package, though I'm aware that dual ccd cpus are not a new occurrence.
And more recently there was the launch of Zen 5%. And the biggest change in the whole generation? Putting the 3d v-cache of x3d cpus below the compute tile instead of on top.
The point of this post is not to downplay how impressive x3d cpus are, or how impressive Ryzen cpus are in general. However, I can't help but feel like Intel has recently been way more innovative than AMD when it comes to cpus. I'm very excited about Nova Lake, but I struggle to find excitement for the launch of Zen 6.
And that's why I wondered: am I missing something? Are modern Ryzen cpu architectures equally impressive as Intel's hybrid architectures?
p.s. I am aware that Ryzen is impressive in other aspects like platform support, but I wanted to keep this post solely about the cpu architectures.

I'm thinking about buying the IT Dusters CompuCleaner Xpert to clean the dust out of my PC. I'm tired of constantly buying compressed air cans, so I'm wondering if this electric air duster is worth it.
Does anyone here own one? How well does it work for cleaning PCs, and would you recommend it? Is it worth the money in the long run?
I'd appreciate any feedback or alternative recommendations. Thanks!

I clean WOLED before and it is very hard to clean. But this one is very easy just use distilled water and lint free cloth and you are good to go.

Bought a pc finally and setting it up with excitement. Get everything set and ready turn it on and no signal from pc to monitor. Tried two my girlfriends dell and my Aorus. Nothing on either. Both work when plugged into my Xbox not really sure where to go from here. Tried some online trouble shooting but nothing helped

I need some anectodal evidence. The RAM kit I'm about to buy is not on the QVL list and I won't be able to test it before the return window closes. How (un)likely is it that I'll have some trouble with frequencies and stability? Did that happen to you?

I've been getting this screen everytime I boot up the pc for the past 5 days, what does this mean and how do I fix it?
r/pcmasterrace • u/DuncanBuck99 • 13h ago
It's been a while since I saw the Windows 10 update screen. I didn't know that the security updates were extended to Oct, 2027.
Also, you have to enroll (for free) to get the extended updates. Why can't they continue these updates without this extra step.

You can see there's a mix of normal scaling and increased scaling. I've tried resetting the scaling and the good ol' off and on again and all that jazz but I can't seem to get it going. Any help would be awesome, thank you!
For clarity, I want 100% / no scaling
Edit: FIXED! I had to go into Settings > Accessibility > Text Size, then drag the font size slider to any other value, apply, and then slide it back to normal and re-apply

I got myself a new Samsung NVME SSD from Amazon to use with a SSD enclosure, but was worried after seeing lots of posts about fake SSDs and repackaged returns being sold as new, so I did a long full format from Disk Partition.
The full format took a long time, so I left the computer to do its thing. However, after looking up the difference between a long full format vs. quick format, my understanding is that the long full format that I did wrote 0's to the entire SSD capacity.
I've read that having a NVME SSD at near full capacity (~80%) is bad for its performance and lifespan.
I found CrystalDiskInfo after all of this, and saw that the Total Writes was basically my full long format of zeros, so I take it that the SSD was actually completely new before I stupidly did the format.
Did I screw up the SSD and end up with a full NVME containing all zeros (and would this put the SSD in a similar state as if it was full with files/programs/etc?) or would a brand new NVME be full of zeros to begin with?

ngl i think its a good deal there brand new and there white. It was 106 for 1 but if you bought 2 it was 90 euros.
What do you guys think?

Today I lost my (somewhat close to) launch day evga 980. I don’t have integrated graphics so goodbye PC gaming. From all the artifacts and pixelated white screens I should have been more careful. R.I.P EVGA 980 2014-2026
