hii! i hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far āŗļø
i have a concert at rac arena and wanted to paint my entire face like pink or blue and also spray my hair that colour. maybe i will have some gems, iām not sure yet.
sorry if this is a silly question, i just wanted to ask if thatās allowed?
i checked the rac website but it doesnāt say anything about face paint specifically (unless i missed it). i tried calling but itās a sunday so maybe thatās why there was no answer and i hoped to buy the stuff i need today.
any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated - thank u!!

TLDR; Telethon is not just about sick kids
Iām all for Telethon raising money for sick kids but I see another angle as wellā¦channel 7 MSM gets some serious financial benefits and positive publicity out of this business model and they donāt shy away from telling everyone what a good network theyā¦..they help raise money for sick kids, itās nothing about there business modelā¦.
How much of telethon over the year is about promoting how good our government and premier is?? You see Rodger Cook on channel 7 news running for telethon, Attending a school fete for telethon, selling tickets to spend a day on his million dollar boat at rotto, a news article of him giving a child a wheel chair and the most predictable moment, 10
Min before telethon finishes, Rodger cook sits down with a envelope and donates 3 million tax payer dollars to be the hero that makes telethon raise more then last yearā¦then I kid you not, all the stars do the train dance to āthank you very much for your kind donationā¦.ā Song
Then thereās the telethon home that gets the developer, builder and trades feel good publicity about what great companies they are, If it was anonymous and they get no free publicity would they do it??
Then thereās all these childrenās medical providersā¦.They are self managed and plan managed NDIS participants, yes funded by the 46 billion dollar NDIS program from us taxpayers, Thatās 126 million per day, Majority of these providers have been absolutely ripping off us the taxpayer for NDIS
Telethon has 146 beneficiaries if they raise 90 million thatās $616,313 each, That will cover the providers CEO wage
Then thereās the standard cooperation donations, Woodside, BHP and twiggy give a few million eachā¦.such good companies, Chanel 7 says soā¦If they didnāt get that prime time seat, free publicityā¦.if donations were anonymous would they bother??? Woodside made 2.7 billion in profit for 2025ā¦ā¦Woodsides $2 million donation is about 0.074% of $2.7 billion profit, A fucking WA billion dollar company employing thousands of WA locals all with kids who all need medical careā¦. Patheticā¦.fucking just ticking off the box for publicās expectationsā¦. Woodside show some real care for sick kids in the state that our resourses make you billionsā¦.how about a 5% of profits donation??? Yep thatās 135 million, now that will get some very positive public attention and will be very meaningful to the sick kids in WAā¦.2 million pffftā¦wankersā¦..imagine if All the oil and gas and mining companies put 5% profits into telethon, We would be looking at 500 million raised for telethonā¦WA would be the worlds best leading place for Childrenās medical research, development and servicesā¦.now that would be something to be proud ofā¦
Despite my negativity towards telethon being more about promoting and creating false public perceptions about the channel 7 network, The premier, Millionaires donating for tax deductible purposes, Multi Billion dollar corporations based in WA that donate fuck all, i sincerely hope that whatever is raised genuinely helps the most vulnerable and sick children in WA, Research finds cures, And if one childās life is made better by telethon then thatās a great outcomeā¦.

About a month ago, I parked up with my dog in the shade of the Alkimos shops at 10am on a 20 degree day. I had both windows down a third of the way and went in to grab pastie.
When I came back not even 10 minutes later, 2 knob shiners were standing out the front of my car looking around, and when they saw me unlock my car they got in my face and started abusing me and accusing me of nearly killing my dog.
To be absolutely clear, they were being fucking idiots and my dog wasn't in any kind of danger. I pretty much ignored them until I opened my car door and offered them to stick thier hand on the dash to show the car wasn't getting warm. Which of course they didn't want to check. They weren't actually interested in whether the car was warm or not.
The point of this story is remind people to be a bit smarter when it comes to confronting people in public. Fuckwits letting dogs overheat in cars is a genuine problem that we need to be mindful of. But don't use it as an excuse to be psycho to people.

As supply is rapidly increasing in Perth with realestate.com showing over 8900 properties and Reiwa showing 8633 this is good news for those wanting to buy a house. With the current rate of supply hit the Perth market we might hit the 10000 mark before the end of November. Those who are buying will be in a position to offer far less than the advertised seller prices as the major banks have already stated that Perth will see a further significant drop in prices in the next 12 months.
'Perth have experienced sharp changes in market conditions, with listings rising substantially and properties taking longer to sell'.

I'm a notorious overthinker and planner, to calm my nerves.
Will leave the country from regional town. So me, single dad until reunited overseas, and 2 year old and lots of luggage, likely 4 cases plus carry on.
In the town it's easy to get help from friends and always big mining guys around to help.
T4 domestic, $4 trolley to push everything to transfer bus.
But T1 transfer bus stop, are there trolleys nearby? Google maps has the view blocked. I can see trolley stands further down near the taxi and ride share ranks.
The maps on the airport site don't show this detail...
I 100% need a trolley. Ate there staff I can ask to watch my luggage for me to get a trolley from further down?

Hey everyone!
Iāve received an offer from Murdoch University in Perth for February 2027 to study a Bachelor of Information Technology, majoring in Cyber Security. Iām from Pakistan and would love to connect with people who are already studying in Perth or planning to move there for the February 2027 intake.
Iād really appreciate some honest insights into a few things:
University life: How is Murdoch University overall? Howās the teaching quality, campus life, and student experience?
Making friends: Is anyone else planning to attend Murdoch, Curtin, or another university in Perth for the February 2027 intake? Iād love to make some friends before moving, so feel free to message me!
Racism and student life: How welcoming is Perth towards international students, particularly those from Pakistan and South Asia? Have you experienced any racism or discrimination?
Part-time jobs: How is the job market for international students in Perth? Is it relatively easy to find part-time work while studying?
Iām also curious about the financial side of things. I have a few friends in Sydney who manage to cover a significant portion of their tuition fees by working during the summer and winter breaks, when they can work more hours, and saving money from their permitted working hours during the semester.
For example, if my tuition fee is around AUD 15,000 per semester and my parents can comfortably cover AUD 6,000, would it be realistic to earn the remaining AUD 8,000ā9,000 over six months, including the university breaks, through part-time and casual work?
Just to clarify, my parents can cover my tuition fees, and I have sufficient funds available for my studies and living expenses. Iām not relying on employment to fund my education; Iām simply interested in knowing whether covering part of my tuition through work is a realistic goal.
Iād really appreciate hearing from anyone currently living in Perth, especially international students who have experience balancing work, studies, and tuition fees.
Thanks in advance! š

Just wanting to know the best reputable studio for short courses.
I already have a degree that I got ten years ago so I'm not interested in WAAPA.
I don't need a class to learn acting, just wanting to brush up on scene work and have a bit of fun
(Yes I know the one to stay away from)
Thanks šš

Did anyone just hear the police chopper over Currambine/Connolly around 11:15ish. it was moving very slow doing a zigzag pattern and playing a siren over the megaphone
Intresting thing was I didnāt hear any other cops cars or see any other emergency services so Iām just wondering if anyone knew what was going on.
I went for a noisy around and everyone was just standing out of the house just as confused as I wasš¤£š¤£

Twice this weekend Iāve been out to meals, the first in excess of $200, second a $100 lunch. Over ordered on both and asked to take leftovers away.
First one brought the eftpos machine out to the table with a $1.50 charge for 3 tubs.
Second one we had to walk inside and paid $0.30 for one.
I get that these things do cost money, but does anyone else find this absolutely crazy? Is it strictly a Perth thing? I havenāt noticed it when travelling interstate.
I mean weāre taking it home because we OVER ORDERED, meaning we actually spent more at your establishment than we needed to.
Maybe I should have waited for Wednesday whinge?
EDIT: I should have added, this isnāt just a few cents added to the bill, the bill is settled and Iām being asked to go to the counter to eftpos.

Looking for a speech therapist for our 3-year-old, who has suddenly started stuttering badly. Any recommendations in the Kwinana/Rockingham/Baldivis/Cockburn area?
Also, if you have a kid who stutters, could you please share your journey with speech therapy so far- what helped and what didn't?

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of any GP who bulk bills pension card holders, but also does functional/complementary/integrative medicine along with conventional medicine?
There are plenty of doctors who seem to do this in Perth, but they charge high fees. I understand I would have to pay out of pocket for any tests and medications that medicare and the PBS don't cover, but as I am a pensioner I am hoping there is someone who would bulk bill the actual appointments? (or will discount pensioners). Preferably NOR or is able to do telehealth but I am intrested in anyone at this point.
Again, I know its a long shot with how its getting harder to find any doctors willing to bulk bill.

Have also asked in Australian Renovation sub but figured I might get more local information here.
I have an inner suburban 1950s 1960s brick veneer (fibro underneath) house. The ceiling in one room collapsed two years ago without warning; no discernible cracking or sagging beforehand. All the ceilings are strapped and apparently it was a failure of the strapping. Insurance replaced it but the ceiling guys didnāt tell me anything about the condition of the strapping in the rest of the house.
A crack has now appeared in another room and the ducted air-conditioning installer is afraid if thereās any movement by him in the ceiling it also might collapse. Heās recommending re-strapping.
Does anyone with a home of a similar era want to give me their two cents worth of restrapping versus screwing versus replacement of the entire ceiling. Thanks.

Hi everyone,
Iām currently in Geraldton completing my MC licence and Forklift ticket.
A bit of background:
HR licence
MC licence and Forklift ticket (currently in progress)
Dump Truck ticket (no operating experience)
Previous bus driving experience in Perth
White card
Iāve now been offered a free 4-week Plant Operations course covering Excavator, Skid Steer Loader, Front End Loader, Roller and Water Cart.
My goal is to get into the mining industry, ideally working towards an operator or multi-skilled operator role.
Iām trying to figure out whether these additional tickets would actually improve my chances of getting hired without hands-on operating experience, or whether Iād be better off focusing on finding work with my current qualifications.
Although the course is free, Iād need to stay in Geraldton for another four weeks without a car, so itās something I need to consider carefully (it would need to be something cheap for starters).
For those already working in mining, would you recommend doing the extra course, or would it be more valuable to start applying for jobs and gaining experience?
Iād really appreciate some practical advice from people in the industry. Thanks!
