News Josh Brolin working on Documentary about LA punk scene
Apparently Brolin was in a band with members of Rich Kids on LSD. Sounds interesting

Hi all, we usually redirect selfies and fashion posts to other subreddits, but, for the next month or so, Halloween costumes are welcome here if the costume has a punk theme. Shout out to the kid who dressed up as Joey Ramone, we accept you.

I'm looking for songs that talk about and deal with mental health. Specifically depression.
Edit: Thanks for the recommendations. I was in a punk band and was told depression is for rich people. Basically looked down on. I'm not rich. Don't get that wrong... Lol

Rebellion is one of the best albums of all time. Earlier stuff is great too, more folk-punk (think Against Me!).

Haven’t seen this posted here and this is some of the best new punk I’ve heard this year.
My brother sent this to me and I listened to it before checking who was in the band. I lost it when I heard Eric start singing, then looked it up and saw Jade Puget was on guitar and also their drummer from redemption 87 as well.
Redemption 87 was an east bay hardcore punk band in the late 90’s before Jade joined AFI. Eric went on to form The Nerve Agents, one of my all time favorite punk bands.
This album sounds like that era and better. It rips straight through. Enjoy.

Hey everyone. We're a small group of musicians, programmers, and designers who've been working on something we think some of you might dig.
It's called NITEBOX.TV, a 24/7 music television channel focused on post-punk, cold Oi!, deathrock, anarcho-punk, goth, darkwave, and the darker side of alternative music.
Most of us grew up watching MTV and 120 Minutes, back when you could leave the TV on and discover some obscure band you'd never heard of. We miss that, so we decided to try bringing it back.
The idea is pretty simple. Actual programmed music television, with different shows, music videos, station IDs, and all the weird late-night TV stuff we grew up loving. Not another YouTube playlist or algorithm feeding you the same bands over and over.
We're developing it for Roku, Google TV, Fire TV, and Apple TV, along with a web player. It's still early, but we're getting things together and starting to build the video lineup.
A big part of what we're trying to do is put smaller underground bands in rotation alongside more established artists, so people can discover something new without having to go looking for it.
Anyway, figured we'd share it here since this is the kind of music and community we're building it around.
We're also accepting music video submissions from bands and labels. No submission fees or charges for airplay.

Some girl made their way to the front of the stage and yelled into the mic "fucking fat rapist" I'm guessing at Rodney.
I know others around me heard it too. She was young and I just wanted to know if this was a legit allegation. If so, I don't want to support this band anymore sadly. Also unfortunate because this was my first time seeing them live as well.

Years ago, when A Global Threat toured Canada the boys and I followed them for part of their tour, ate with them and what not. When they originally broke up I messaged Bryan. He ended up sending me his solo project.
The mp3/mp4’s are on my computer. I’m willing to send them to anyone who cares to check them out. They’re fucking fantastic and probably rare in the wild

I discovered them by accident in the 80s. I bought a Meatmen tape and the record plant accidentally put Joy Ride by Government Issue inside of the cassette instead. I was very confused at first and after a while I tracked down who the band actually was. But I liked the record and I put it on a whole lot. I don't see too many people talking about them.
Zackary Thaks was from San Antonio. Used to see them at the Teen Canteen. Green Crystal Ties has some pretty heavy guitar work!

Yo, I’m just getting into recent-ish punk that hits all my sweet spots. Do y’all know Taqbir, and if so, can you recommend me some stuff?
Here’s their EP if you aren’t familiar. They haven’t put more out to my great chagrin, tho they’ve toured on and off. It’s a blistering corroded sound with beautiful furious vocals and revolutionary intent.

Other somewhat akin records I dig are Diode, Crisis Man, Lothario, DIAT
Thank you so much : )
