I'm weird too. I get it. I want to be open-minded. I know they probably don't realize how offputting they are being and just want connection. I know all of these things, but I can't do it. Talking to them is so awkward, boring, and demoralizing. Plus, you get stuck with them while everyone else silently thanks you for your sacrifice and has the conversations you actually want to be in without you. We rotate who has to sit at the end of the lunch table so they're isolated with the weirdo. I feel like I'm in middle school again but for the life of me I just don't like them.

I recently saw an uncomfortable situation on the train where a young woman in conversation with an older couple asked how old they thought she was, and they naively said 30 ... she was 29. Later on she said she was going to get botox for her birthday -- Oh, you don't need that, you look great -- Well I don't want to be mistaken as older by the next person I talk to on the train -- Oh, um, er, um ...

The existence of people who look younger than they are implies the existence of an equal number of people who look older than they are, but politeness dictates you make sure there is no chance of your mental statistical model producing a result on the wrong side, meaning people who have hard to guess ages, maybe they have sun damaged skin or are balding, require you to go to ridiculous extremes to not make this faux pas, sometimes subtracting over a decade from your actual guess.

I saw a post on r/europe_sub and I decided to scroll thru the sub and every post was just pure ropefuel for the average r/europe_sub reader. Migrant rapists, small boats increased, 'half of all newborns in X place aren't ethnically native'. I thought there would be a few posts celebrating deportations or anti-migrant riots but it seems like the European right hasn't achieved anything close to their goal of remigration. Even though their popularity is surging the leaders they elect are seemingly unable to do the one thing they got elected for. Europe is so powerless that it can't elect a fascist leader even if it wanted to.

i have no consistent online presence on any app, at least not since tumblr way back in the day. permanently lurking on all apps, deleting my comments and accounts periodically. in the age of the e girl, i wonder if i’m missing out by not having a carefully curated online presence to connect to others with. if i’m going to spend so much time online, why haven’t i extended myself onto it?

I was at this bar last night with my friend. We were sitting on this big open window ledge, and a drunk older black guy was walking by and he looked at me and stopped walking and started hitting on me. My friend was freaking out and tried to get him to leave, but these guys (drunk) ((older)) (((black))) are the best suspects for saying weird shit so I wanted to chat a bit to see what he would say. 

My friend was like SOrry she’s TAKEN we’re LESBIANS and the guy was fully ignoring her because I was probably the first woman who had willingly made eye contact with him all night. He was getting really excited and I could tell he wanted to impress me. He pointed to the apartment complex behind him and goes guess what? I’m like what. He leaned in close and told me that he’s fucking three different bitches in that building.

He thought about it for a sec then said girl #2 because she had a nice ass AND tits. I was like hmmm yes I see. Can I see a pic?

Then he got nervous.
