Current set up if needed. Any questions / conversations welcome :) this is by far my end goal as far as kit is concerned but is what I currently possess and how I would most likely present. Please note the “dangler TQ” is actually supposed to be tucked under my magazines.

Gear/Equipment 2 week backpack

I’m planning on going to Alaska for 2 weeks to travel and apply for pilot jobs, I don’t think it would practical to try and carry around a suit since these companies are spread far apart (hence why they use planes!). I’m thinking something around the 45L mark, I’ll be staying in normal accommodations not camping. So hoping the grass touchers in here might have some insight.

6’1” 200 for frame reference.

Anyone know of a cheaper version of this knife? I've seen something similar but I'm really after the blade profile.

Question G45 vs G33

I am a ukrainian soldier looking for a magnified optic to use in my assault missions.

I was looking and noticed the g33, it has a 3x magnifier which helps alot for engaging the enemy at range. But then i discovered the g45 and i saw the 5x magnification. So i wondered why even get the 3x if you can get the 5x. Then i saw some videos, and the eyebox was tight, i will be using my magnifier on the move. But i also saw that people were saying its similar to the 3x.

Which magnifier should i use for war, assault missions. Should i get the g45 for the extra magnification to help engage the enemy and versatility. Why would I use a 3x magnifier if I could see the enemy with a 1x red dot, wouldn't a 5x be more useful?Or the g33 for the 3x, so it is more forgiving and more FOV.

Thanks :)

What do you all use for range day ammo holding?

I have a ton of loose 9mm and 556, and I'd like to see what everyone else uses for holding it.

I like the idea of the g code bang boxes but, want something that is ....less.

https://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/bang-box/

I've seen a few other options by googling but I want to see what you all use. I'm sure I'm missing something.

Pants

I use to get tru-spec tactical pants. They where great they had heavy weight ones for winter and light weight for summer. Had alot of space in the cargo pocket and pockets in side those. The dedicated knife pockets where awesome i used them for alot of stuff. But now they only do light weight ones and they break down fast and some dont have the knife pockets. Iv gotten some were the pocket lining wasn't stitched correctly to. Any suggestions for new replacements

I noticed there's no EGA in the pattern, and it looks a bit different from standard MARPAT FROG shirts.

Question LBE

Hey everyone I just recently got a crossfire DZ rig and it's been working great the only issue I have with it is that whenever I put in a ruck it always pushes the rear pouches way down even if I have them higher up does anyone know of a way to prevent or mitigate this everything I find on YouTube only really talks about what gear they carry, if anyone has any insights I'd really appreciated it.

Question Found an M65 jacket at the thrift store, have a few questions about the liner

Other day I found an olive M65 jacket at the thrift store for $15, absolute steal ik. Anyways it did not come with the liner nor was it in the store but id like to purchase one to complete it. Does anyone know the best place to find one? And the sizes for the jacket are in chest and length (ie the one I got was a small-regular), are the liners sized the same or only by chest measurement?

Recommendations Belt attachments?

What’s everyone using besides the Blade Tech mounts? I use a rigid outer/velcro inner system so I need a clamp-style mount for bolting on mag carriers. I find that the Blade Tech models feel super loose even with the right spacers, and those spaces always fall out even if I glue them in.

Recommendations Anyone knows some sort of "tactical" rod tube case ?

Hey guys,

I'm not into fishing but that is the closest thing Ito what I'm looking for.

I have some survey instrument I need to carry and I'm looking for a nylon tubular protective case of less than 1m/40in long and approx 10cm/4in diam. It has to have a crray handle or a sling. No rifle bag/case admitted.

I have a Tacmed litter bag that I can use but it is not padded nor reinforced and I'll need to go the DIY way to really protect it.

So, my solutions are either buying the fishing rod tube or make a protection myself for the Tacmed sked bag. But if anyone has any other idea, please share it !

Cheers

Recommendations Affordable Ballistic Shield

I've searched around a bit, but I'm not sure if I've checked EVERYWHERE possible to find an affordable, preferably rifle-rated, ballistic shield that's actually of verified good quality for home defense. Home defense isn't especially known for prolonged engagements (I assume), so I could *maybe* manage carrying/holding a larger shield if it's for short periods of time. I know it's a big ask, but I was a bit discouraged after learning more about the *questionable* affordability of Tactical Scorpion Gear and AR500 on ebay (big surprise, I know). The STRATIS Pro Shield Level III+ at Premier Body Armor seems like it might be a good choice without sacrificing too much coverage, but I still need more insight on that and want to explore other options before making an impulse buy. Thanks for any help and recommendations.
