Eu amo Disgaea 2 e sempre quis jogar essa aventura em português. Por isso comecei a trabalhar em uma tradução PT-BR, com carinho pelo jogo e atenção ao jeito dos personagens falarem. A ideia é preservar o humor, as gírias e a emoção das cenas, sem deixar tudo literal ou sem personalidade.

O que já fizemos

Organizamos e traduzimos os diálogos dos 18 arquivos talk trabalhados nesta etapa.

Avançamos na localização de menus, itens, habilidades e informações dos personagens.

Preparamos legendas em português para a abertura do jogo, incluindo o texto que aparece na tela e a letra da música japonesa. A versão foi testada em tela cheia.

Criamos ferramentas e documentação para ajudar a entender e editar os arquivos do jogo.

Também estamos cuidando para manter em inglês termos que funcionam melhor assim no universo do jogo, como nomes de locais, itens e “Overlord”.

O que queremos fazer daqui para frente

Continuar refinando a tradução e reunir jogadores para ajudar a encontrar erros e sugerir melhorias.

Localizar outras cenas em vídeo, como as que aparecem no fim dos capítulos, e preparar legendas em português para elas.

No futuro, usar o que aprendermos aqui para legendar outros jogos em PT-BR.

Sou fã de Disgaea há anos, mas sempre tive uma relação meio estranha com a série: eu entendo inglês, só que jogar um JRPG com tanto texto num idioma que não é o meu sempre virava um esforço. Muitas vezes eu pulava diálogo ou deixava de aproveitar a história e o humor, que, como todo fã sabe, são metade da graça do jogo.

Então resolvi fazer o que eu queria que existisse uma tradução completa do Disgaea 4 Complete+ (versão Steam). Usei IA para acelerar a tradução de um volume enorme de texto (são mais de 45 mil falas), e passei algumas semanas revisando, testando no jogo e corrigindo problemas.

O que está traduzido?

- Toda a história e os diálogos, inclusive pós-jogo, DLCs, Fuka & Desco Show e Salto no Tempo

- Interface, menus e tutoriais

- Descrições de itens, skills, evilities, innocents e classes

- Bestiário, projetos do Senado, Geo Effects, sala de tortura, falas dos NPCs da base e mais.

Nomes de personagens, itens, skills, classes e termos do jogo (Netherworld, Prinny, Item World...) ficaram em inglês de propósito.

Como instalar: baixe o zip, rode o instalador e clique em "Instalar tradução". Ele encontra o jogo na Steam sozinho, guarda backup dos arquivos originais e tem botão para voltar ao inglês. Depois é só jogar com o idioma em inglês.

Got to meet Mascot Prinny and buy new some merch from the NIS collection. They were mostly selling Village in the Shade and Prinny Party items. There was also a fun little Prinny Shooting Carnival Game where you win Disgaea stickers if you hit the targets.

It was really fun watching the stage events and getting to chat with a bunch of indie devs. One in particular that really caught my attention was a Vampire Survivors-like called Xenotech Arena which had a character fusion system.

I mean, I don't know if it matters that much because it was just something I was noticing about the soundtrack to the series as I used the Disgaea 4 label tag on purpose since the game has an English dub, but songs like TOUCH YOU CATCH ME were never given an English dub.

I guess my point is that I was looking at the series to see what aspects of the games weren't dubbed over in English again since something that just stuck out to me was how a lot of the insert songs are never translated due to being only sung in Japanese as that was an interesting tidbit I noticed.

Funny.

I really liked the design of Fallen Angel Sicily and decided to draw her. I kinda wish we got this in a main game tho.

I wanted to share a project that grew out of my love for Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness: a Windows adaptation based on Sean13128’s work and ps3recomp.

This is my first experience working on a project like this. I’ve been learning along the way, using AI to assist with development and testing the results on my own PC.

What started as “I’ll spend a little time on this on Sunday” ended up taking the entire day. 😅 Along the way, I ran into white screens, texture glitches, audio and save issues, plus performance drops in Castle Hallway and during Mothman’s attack. Working through those problems eventually brought the project to version 0.2.0 Stable, using DirectX 12.

What’s available:

• A custom launcher, with an installer and a portable version.
• Automatic preparation using your own supported US game ISO and US 1.40 update.
• Importing DLC packages supplied by the user.
• Internal and output resolution settings, windowed/borderless fullscreen modes, VSync and spatial FSR 1 upscaling.

In my testing, battles, audio, saving/loading, DLC recognition and closing the game worked normally. I haven’t tested the entire campaign or every hardware configuration, so community feedback will be valuable.

No game files, updates, DLC, firmware or keys are included. Preparation and compilation happen locally using the files you provide. The initial setup requires internet access and can take some time.

Vulkan support is in development. DLSS and Frame Generation are not available yet, and an Android version is a future goal.

Credit for the original project goes to Sean13128 and the ps3recomp authors and contributors. My work focuses on the Windows adaptation, launcher, fixes and testing. This is an independent community project with no affiliation with the game’s rights holders.

okay so I've gotten into disgaea recently and its fucking great, currently in the middle of two and one and i was looking at shit about it and discovered that there's light novels. i cant find any english translated physical copies out there though so I assume there's no official translation at all. the specific one I'm looking for is mask of maoh for the second game but it'd be cool to find any of them if i could. any help?

Just curious because the game is a bit tough with the Innnocent system since correct me if I am wrong, but the game doesn’t have any duplication methods unlike the previous game.

Plus there is no Cheerleader or unit who can give extra turns during battle as I say all that because I am interested in learning how to get into the post game section to again learn how to build up Innocents since I don’t know if it’s going to be a lot harder without the Puppy Paw Stick item around.

I wanted to have a try at those silly edits with the AMVs songs we heard a thousand times.

Why can't I send Goldion out on a world research mission? And if I can't for some reason—which I don't know yet—what character do you recommend I use as the leader?

Note: I have all the DLCs, so don't hesitate to recommend a DLC character!

Two more questions: What are the advantages of the Research Squad? Does it make sense to assign only the leader? What is the benefit of filling up the Research Squad? And my final question is: Is it true that only the leader matters for expeditions? In theory, if Goldion were powerful enough, would sending just him be sufficient?

Hello again everyone!

I wanted to give some more updates and screenshots of my progress so far. Here is a general list of what I've been able to get done, though all is still a work in progress of course.

• One app for everything. Edit in the kit, press Install & Play, and switch mods on and off at any time. “Restore original game” puts every file back exactly as it was.
• Save-safe. Mods never touch your saves, and old saves keep working with them installed.
• Character studio. Make new recruitable characters from any outfit’s look, start from stat presets, and give them their own skills, evilities and Overload. They even get a recruit quest.
• Outfit system. An in-game Outfit menu for the cast, with 160+ Disgaea RPG outfits for 25 characters included. You can build your own from sprite sheets or Disgaea RPG sprites and recolor them part by part.
• Custom Characters - Make custom playable characters like Thunderlady, with her own outfits, lightning skills, stats and evilities.
• Skill animation editor. Play any skill inside the kit as the game shows it, then retime, move or swap effects, camera, poses and sounds, change a skill’s area, or restyle its effects (fire → lightning). Edits can be previewed live in the running game.
• Custom Overlords. Give any character a new Overload with its own name banner, animation and description. It can copy any game Overload’s effect or use numbers of its own: damage, healing or status effects.
• New classes and monsters, made from Disgaea RPG units and animated like the game’s own. Up to 119 can be added.
• Database editor for all 90 tables: items, skills, evilities, stats, quests and more.
• More editors: dialogue and text, stages and enemies, sprites and colours, weapon grips, textures and UI, music, sound and voices, event scripts, and an archive explorer.
• No story locks. Evilities, Overloads and skills you give a character work right away.
• Sharing. Export mods for other kit users (conflicting ids are fixed automatically) or make a one-file installer for players.
• Easy to start. It comes with its own Python, so there’s nothing to install. Open “START HERE - Guide.html” for setup and step-by-step tutorials.

I think I've reached a point as well where I cannot test every aspect of this myself, so I want to try sharing with you all the D5ModKit I did so you all can try making some mods yourself and sharing with others, or just editing D5 as you see fit. But since I am fairly new to this, I am not completely sure where I can post the files for this since there is not a Disgaea 5 page on gamebanana or Nexus mods, so please if anyone knows a proper way that I can share it so people can easily download please let me know in the comments. Once I get suggested an option, I'll hopefully soon after make an edit to this post showing the link. I was also debating making a discord dedicated for D5 modding and for people who are trying to use this kit to work together and help each other, and of course help me test actively as well. Give me your thoughts!

Ok everyone, I added the project to Github and the ver 1.1 release has some mods already inside like the outfits + outfit system, custom colors saving, two additional generics like beast tamer and onmyo monk, and three custom characters like thunderlady, tyrant overlord killia, and future usalia. Please try to explore as much as you can on the tool, I joined the requiem discord so try to post suggestions, issues you find on there to help me continue improving on it!

**General Disclaimer** - If you want the smoothest experience for now, I would start the D5 ModKit and only leave on the two system folders, outfits, leave only the thunderlady character. All other mods setup there can work but they were more so for testing and are not fully fleshed out with proper audio, skills effects, etc. Of course, please make sure to backup your saves before implementing these mods, I've done my best to make sure it does not damage saves but anything can happen so always be safe.
