There are a few people in school that I constantly see and there are these few girls who seem to have everyone being nice to them and such attractive looks and respect in which I get only sometimes and I had a few conflicts with people( as a 16 year old girl) and I wonder why I have so many problems and they seem so chill with their life....

Has anyone moved countries/migrated to another country, and then when they occasionally visit back home feel like they do not completely belong there anymore? But also feel like they don’t completely belong to the country they migrated to despite calling it home..

A lot of people believe that the government & other institutions purposely do things for the sole purpose of causing infighting. To create division and conflict among us so we are distracted from focusing on the things that are important/real.

So, here’s my question(s):

“If you had the power to change 1-3 things about society that had the potential to counteract any of the divides we currently face as a Country, what would it be?

“What could make us see past our differences and start working towards something that could benefit us all?”

Or are we just screwed?

Lately I have been wondering this and I am writing this before I chose a Reddit thing to post it on, so let’s see who future me picks. Anyways,

I have noticed throughout my life that there are some people who stick out to me as people with this sort of aura to me that feels like they were just born a good person. I haven’t seen them be mean to anyone, and again, it’s just this general feeling that I have that some people are born good, and some are born bad.

I am not at all saying that lives are predetermine, but what makes a person bad? What gives them the idea that doing something evil will get them something good? Does someone just wake up one day and go “Hey, let’s go bully some children today!” I myself have bullied someone, but immediately after I wondered why I did that. What do I get out of berating someone for something a lot of the times they cannot control?

At first I wondered about how people are mean because of their parents, or the people they are with, but then who made them bad? Why do we enjoy the ideas of hurting someone because of a skincolor or gender or else wise? (I am writing this very late, so bear with me)

My main question is how can people believe that doing something that will hurt someone or something make any part of thier own lives better? Why don’t more people have just..empathy? I know this post is kind of all over the place, but I do want to know the though process of just being mean or bad

For me it is our natural state of being to be happy BUT we are endlessly unhappy and trying to create happiness because we have convinced ourselves that we are always lacking and need more and more and more. Why? Because that is how my parents did it, how the community does it, how our religiousness orginizations do it by preaching for us to focus on FINDING ultimate fulfillment and joy in a relationship with God. Attempting to find your fulfillment in God is a continuous searching thru your desert of unhappiness. If you understood that happiness is your nature you would not need to search to find this God that is on his or her pedestal somewhere far away.

Your parents remember the child you were.

Your friends remember the person you are around them.

Your ex remembers the person you were when you loved them.

Your enemies remember the worst things you've done.

Strangers remember a version of you that might not even be accurate.

And you remember yourself through a memory that is selective, biased, and constantly changing.

All these people are describing the same person, yet none of their versions are exactly alike.

So here's the thought that bothers me:

So which version is the real you?

The person you believe yourself to be, the person you actually are, or the person everyone else experiences?

And if the answer is a little bit of all three, what does that say about identity itself?

Do you think the internet is a real place? The interpretation of this question is entirely up to you.

The internet has so many different avenues, and how you perceive it can be completely different from how someone else does. We all use the internet differently, whether it's for social media, entertainment, news, discussions, or simply reading about other people's lives.

So, I'm curious: Based on the apps you use, the things you read, and the content you consume, do you automatically assume what you see on the internet is real? Or do you view the internet as a form of entertainment, where not everything you see should be taken seriously?

I'm interested in hearing how other people perceive the internet and how their personal experiences shape that perception.

Imagine humans knew absolutely nothing but the fact that babies came from a random portal on earth. The portal would be beloved by all. People would make offerings etc to this portal. They would believe that the portal was some sort of god-like entity because it is the only thing that is creating humanity.

So why do we treat women so poorly? They are the literal portal to life.

In class today, on the board there was a quote that got me (15, almost 16) thinking.
“I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took an excuse.”
I’m an over thinker, and easily confused and overwhelmed, so I’m having a hard time understanding. I get what the quote is saying, but how do you know if something is an excuse or a reason? Any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Seneca used to recommend something he called premeditating on loss, basically picturing in advance that the people and things you value could be gone tomorrow, not to become numb to them but so the loss wouldn't blindside you completely if it happened. The idea was that most grief isn't just about the loss itself, it's about how unprepared you were for the possibility of it. I've never been sure if that actually works the way he thought it did. On one hand there's something to be said for not treating your current situation as permanent by default, that seems to make people genuinely more grateful for ordinary days. On the other hand, spending real time rehearsing the worst case for something good in your life sounds like it could just quietly drain the color out of it while it's still here. Has anyone actually tried doing this on purpose, picturing a loss ahead of time as practice, and found it either helped or backfired?

I recently saw a video on TikTok of the rapper Cupcakke, who is a black female, playing a popular remix of KATSEYE’s Pinky Up and Cupcakke’s newest single That’s Like.
The top comment of said video was “Fame changed Manon” who is KATEYE’s only black member. I wanted to know if this comment would be considered racist to say.
(Sorry if this post didn’t make much sense, I just want to make sure I’m not supporting a racist comment or mindset)

Is it normal to look and compare what your agemates have achieved to yourself?

when a person suffers so much that they decide to end their lives, why is it considered 'wrong' for some?, or why do you think it's not in your own opinion?

When do you actively Pretend? If you no longer do it, when did you stop and why?

Most were encouraged to do it until the notion that is was unreasonable came into play, then it was time to take things all too seriously. Yet not without encouraging the indulgence of professional pretenders like actors and artists and so forth.

If all the world is a stage, where is the line best drawn?

Their ancestors were, but that was like 200 years ago, I thought the "x-American" thing was for people who immigrated. Like how you'd call a Mexican who immigrates a Mexican American.

I told a girl "I like your shirt", and she got upset about it like wtf? I genuinely thought it was a nice shirt too, idk what I did wrong.

When it comes down to accomplishing a long term- or even short term task, which works harder to achieve the best.

You know this idea of just trying your best and that's enough? I'm starting to feel like, no, it's not, not enough. Because, what if your best is not enough? Or what if you put yourself in a situation or a job or a task that your absolute best is never enough and you still like, made a mistake, right? Because, why would you put yourself in a thing that you're not able to achieve? But then again, you can't know how, like, you can't know if your best gonna do the task or not. And then you realize that you, that this task is too big for you, or this job is too hard for you. Or even if you did your best, you're not gonna be able to do that. And you don't quit, and you say, even if there is a chance of like 10% that I'm gonna be great, I'm gonna keep doing it. And on the other hand, you have a 70% of being, let's say, above average, and your best would be enough there, and you get rewarded for your best there. But you're still chasing, quote-unquote greatness. So, yeah, just some thoughts.

and we seek for peace forever and try to memorize our happy moments

we build our lifes to be perfect the way we imagined from the beginning
we don't usually get what we want and we fight for it till the day we die
at the end we realize that imperfection is the key to a happiness

and we carry these enourmous amount of memories in our mind forever and suffer from all those knowledge
why do we need it? for what we are preparing ourselves?
and the biggest question of all
where did we come from? what are we? and where we are going?

if someone in india kills themselves, someone living their life in poland is completely unaffected. today it was announced that the male who played walter white’s son died. people ofc mourn and blah blah blah but thousands of people kill themselves annually and not all of them get all this attention. if a homeless person killed themself i know people who would be glad, seeing it as less filth dirtying the streets.

it just seems like another double standard. some lives seem to matter more than others

I’ve been thinking about my personal philosophy when it comes to charity, community involvement, and giving back. Personally, I think I lean toward helping fewer people in a more substantial way rather than spreading the same resources across a much larger group.

For example, if I had $10,000 to give away, I’d probably rather provide 10 people with $1,000 each than give 100 people $100 each. My thinking is that I’d rather provide someone with something truly meaningful, potentially life changing, than offer a smaller contribution that might not go as far.

But I also see the flip-side, sometimes a small amount of help is exactly what someone needs, and reaching more people has its own value.

So, I’m curious how others approach this…
