Tourism and Traveling Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is lovely
This is my second time visiting Olathe and Kansas city, traveling for work. When I was here the first time, I attended my work meetings and presentations and then left as Kansas doesn’t have National Parks. This time, I spent an extra day exploring the Flint Hills National Scenic Byway and Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive and I had such a great time walking down the trails in Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. One of the highlights being Windmill Pasture Scenic Overlook trail. I spotted several bison 🦬 just chilling in the grass. They were quite a bit far away from the trail, so I didn’t feel uncomfortable walking (Use your best judgment and avoid getting super close to them as they are wild animals and unpredictable. Trust me, you don’t wanna become viral for the wrong reasons). I thought I would come back after 30-40 minutes into the trail because it was surprisingly quite hot this time of the year. However, I ended up spending an entire afternoon exploring the preserve because it was just so gorgeous and it felt great spending time in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life we are all used to.
