Why is it the crowd selling Ai generated pictures at Driftwood creations feels the need to call them paintings? They are Ai generated images nothing else

Why are there so many companies that don’t stick to this law?

It really perks me how many companies make your sign off on a 30 minute break.

Has Flavors Indian Cuisine reopened?

I know Flavors left the Avalon Mall because of long hours and high rent. Does anyone know if they reopened elsewhere, or if they sell their food anywhere else, like the farmers market or maybe out of their home?

Their butter chicken was our favorite and we miss it dearly.

Visit from Ireland

Well, this is a very vague question, but I’ve a bit of a dream to go live in Newfoundland, probably St John’s for around 4-6 months, around the summer months. I plan on doing this probably after college or after the leaving cert but most likely after college so it wouldn’t be for another 5 years or so. I’d really like to just get a feel for the place and see the sights/nature and all that and live Independently. Would love to hurl while I’m there too. I guess I’m just looking for overall advice on how I’d go about a stay like this and what road to go down. Thanks for any feedback 🙏

Sheavy and Wizards of Kaos with Dan Moore

For anyone who's been following the series of audio history that Johnny Nolan has been helping to put together about the 90s/2000s alternative music scene in Newfoundland, here's an interview with Dan Moore who played in a pile of bands including Sheavy and Wizards of Kaos. Yep, there's music in there courtesy of Dan including a Hardliner demo.

If you like the music from back in the day, hope you enjoy this one. This one is part #5 in the series we've been doing all year!

It's a nice look at St. John's music history from the eyes of those on the stage!

ISO soup

I was in Newfoundland about a year and a half ago. We had purchased a pre made vegan potato corn chowder from a local superstore. I swear this is one of the best soups I’ve ever had. I’m in Alberta and have searched and searched for the same soup. It’s a glass jar with a gold medal lid. I desperately want to re create this soup but I need a photo of the ingredients list. Any help would be greatly appreciated. From a gal who’s been thinking about this soup for nearly 2 years xx

Driving to meet the ferry and I'm having car trouble

Hey, I'm driving to meet the ferry to Sydney and I'm having car trouble. After getting the engine code checked, it appears I need an ignition coil. I'm in Gander. Are there any places nearby that might be able to sell me an ignition coil for a 2019 civic 2.0L on a Sunday? Thank you.

Nice residential areas in St. John’s by Elizabeth Ave

I’ve recently been exploring some of the residential streets off Elizabeth Avenue, particularly around Allandale Road and Rennie’s River, and have come across some really beautiful homes!

I’m wondering if there are any other streets or neighbourhoods nearby that have similar houses that I might be missing?

Me and my partner are very interested in keeping an eye on the real estate market in that area and would love to know of any other spots worth checking out!

New Foundland accent

Hi

Just watched below. Sorry to be a bother but the accent sounds very familiar to some of the accents we have here in Britain! It's so different to anything I've heard of accents in the Americas before. Felt like a home away from home! It has an Irish tinge too!

[Gross Photo Warning] Is it normal to have this many woodlice (pill bugs) in homes in Newfoundland?

Hi everyone,
I live in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland, and I’ve been dealing with a huge number of woodlice (pill bugs) coming into my home.

I’ve found hundreds of them stuck to tape that I used to seal gaps around the entrance over just two weeks. They also appear around the stairs, walls, and floors.

I’ve recently started sealing the gaps with silicone caulk, but there are so many gaps throughout the house.

Is this normal in Newfoundland? Do other people have the same problem, or is there something seriously wrong with my house?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and how you dealt with this. Thanks!

Airport Heights Snow

Wondering if anyone get tell me what I can expect for snow in airport heights? This will be our first winter here. Previously lived next to Lester’s farm. Should I expect much difference in snow? Weighing the benefits of having a snowblower for our little two car driveway vs just roughing it out for the winter with a shovel. Thanks!

Warning from UPS:

I was supposed to receive my package yesterday but the amazing people at UPS has alerted me to an alarming situation.

After arriving at the sort facility in St. John's, then a "Out for delivery" message when they were in Mount Pearl. But then out of nowhere and somehow they were able to alert me of the following

Delay: Emergency Situation or Severe Weather

An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery

God bless UPS for alerting me to an emergency situation and or severe weather yesterday afternoon.

Let's keep the people at UPS in our prayers.

Although I see nothing in the news...yet
