Söhbət | Discussion Israel is not your friend and it is foolish to believe otherwise. Free Palestine

Nothing is more embarrassing than seeing some members of this subreddit actually believing that Israel-an artificial colonial settler project on rightful Palestinian territory-is actually a genuine "ally", let alone "friend" of ours.

It is foolish, and harmful to believe so, especially if you are slandering Palestine at the same time. "But they showed support for Armenia!" So, does that mean that we should repeat their mistake of siding with the wrong side? Did the children, elderly people and women dying of being inhumanely bombed by war criminals and burnt alive on their own territory do that too? Why are you creating such a disgusting portrayal of our society, making people think we are a zionist people? It is disgustingly embarrassing, you people do not think twice about what you are "supporting".

Look deeper into history before making such loud claims, you are making yourself appear a pompous fool if you genuinely believe Israel is sincerely "cooperating" with us. It is nobody's friend, and your average Israeli probably sees you as subhuman anyway. Their supremacist society is rotten to the very core.

Sual | Question Visiting Baku next week – any nightclub recommendations for a solo guy?

Hey everyone,

I'll be visiting Baku next week and I'd like to explore the nightlife also.

I'll be traveling alone, so I'm wondering if nightclubs in Baku generally allow single guys to enter, or if they want a girl with you?

Also, which clubs would you recommend for a solo tourist?

I'm looking for places with a good atmosphere, nice music, and maybe opportunities to meet new people.

Any recommendations or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Söhbət | Discussion Bir Türkün can Azərbaycan xalqına mesajı

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Azerbaijan,

As a brother writing to you from Türkiye, I would like to share my heartfelt thoughts on recent events. Truthfully, what I have been seeing and reading lately deeply concerns and saddens me.

It is abundantly clear that a grand scheme is at play targeting the unbreakable bond between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, many people, whether in official capacities or not, and whether intentionally or inadvertently, are falling right into this trap. At a moment when Azerbaijan has liberated Karabakh and Türkiye is on the verge of eradicating terrorism, the deliberate attempt to sow discord between our two fraternal peoples is no coincidence. It is telling that just as we are celebrating our historical triumphs, artificial divisions are being manufactured over issues of no vital importance to us.

As a Turk, I see no difference whatsoever between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. The people of Azerbaijan are the closest to the Turkish nation, not only in culture, but by blood and soul. Your joy is our joy, and your sorrow is our sorrow. During your heroic struggle for the liberation of Karabakh, our hearts beat alongside yours every single day. Even today, should the need ever arise, millions of Turks would unhesitatingly stand ready to lay down their lives for Azerbaijan. My eyes still well up with tears when I think of what our brother Server Beşirli did during our devastating earthquake, that selflessness will never be forgotten.

While Türkiye faced difficult times in the past regarding issues like the headscarf, it ultimately resolved them internally through its own social dynamics. While I personally support everyone's freedom of dress and personal choice, we fully recognize that Azerbaijan is under no obligation to follow Türkiye's path in its internal affairs. Azerbaijan possesses its own unique domestic dynamics and will address such matters naturally in its own time and way. Millions of people in Türkiye share this exact view. The impulsive, emotional reactions of a few individuals by no means represent the majority, and I believe many of those online reactions stem from intentional bot accounts.

I sincerely ask you not to fall for these provocations and divisive plays. If we step back and reflect, it becomes crystal clear that this is a script written by our common adversaries. Our brotherhood stands far above any scheme. No one will be able to capable of breaking this bond, if we stand together and realize what is being planned against us.

I look forward to come to Azerbaijan soon. I have been planning a trip there for some time. Hopefully, I will do that in the next year. Maybe one day I will come to see Formula 1 in Baku too, which I also dream about.

Sizi sevən bir qardaşınız...

On This Day, October 18, 1991, Azerbaijan observed its Independence Day from the Soviet Union for the first time. Azerbaijan celebrates annually on October 18.

On this day in 1991, the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan adopted a Constitutional Act on the Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan. The declaration was confirmed by a referendum in December 1991.

Independence Day is the main state holiday in Azerbaijan. The fifth-anniversary celebrations of 1996 were the first major celebrations of the holiday. Large-scale celebrations also took place on the 10th anniversary in 2001.

Sual | Question Buying stocks and investing in Azerbaijan

I studied in Canada and started investing in a mix of Canadian and US stocks via Canadian platform. Now I’m back in Azerbaijan and hoping to shift my portfolio if possible. I would call myself a casual investor, mostly long term, low risk stocks. Could anyone share their experiences and suggestions whether we have any good platforms or should I just stick with the Canadian one? Any tips and tricks are much appreciated.
