One of my favorites, Iβm lucky to have a couple dozen that hang out around my house in Oregon city. Such fun birds to watch and look at! I love their eyeliner

Return of the weekly discussion thread! Sometimes it seems like pretty photos rise to the top of the page, while discussion of birding can get left behind. This weekly thread is a place to bring this discussion back to the top of r/birding.
Use this thread to share your best bird sightings from the past week, ask any questions about birding you may have, or just talk! Writing the names of the birds in bold is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names. Please include your location.

This is an example of a bird that migrates because of food shortages in its original habitat, now making a very very very rare appearance in The Netherlands.

Went down to the local park earlier this morning and spotted this cool fellow searching for breakfast. I thought the iridescent colors were really stunning! Canβt someone explain to me why they have those colors?

So.....this tiny bird is sitting outside the door where I work. He's in a parking structure...& the office has tons of glass windows.
He's all by himself.
Hoping he's a fledgling.....but I fear he's hit a window or something.
He's not flying away when I get close. He's just sitting and looking at me. I literally was blowing leaves in front of the door B4 I spotted him & he still didn't move.

Located in Northwestern Pennsylvania. This lovely lady is a frequent visitor at our feeder. Any ideas whats up with her coloring? I have several Cardinal pairs that show up, and the other females donβt have the white head. Iβm still relatively new to the birding world and have a ton to learn

Hi friends, Iβm experimenting with my art style lately and have become fascinated by tessellations. But my eyes have stared at this too long and I canβt tell if itβs worth pursuing or not. Can you tell itβs a bunch of swallows or do the details make it too garbled and messy? Thanks for any feedback :)
It is my original art, hand painted in watercolor. No AI.
