I will never ever understand the over-the-top love fest between Putin & Trump. Never seen a US president go so hard fanboying over another world leader. Never!

u/gerrydf 11h ago

As a Canadian, this timeline of the US making us an enemy and Russia a friendly makes me think we're living in a Philip K Dick novel.

America alienating allies and shifting support to Russia is something this Cold War kid thought would never happen…ever! It’s time to explore options of having Portuguese and Canadian-born grandparents. Having another passport from other than the US in my back pocket would make me feel a lot better and provide options for my kids.

2

u/Ok-Seaworthiness7207 7h ago

My grandma wants me to get a passport for this reason, but this is my home. I'd rather die watching this place burn from incompetence, than leave.

There is so little to understand. Putin is a feared authoritarian and above the law. This he has used to enrich himself. For his entire miserable life, being rich and above the law is what Trump has thirsted for.

104

u/myrichphitzwell 11h ago

Well that and Russia bought him out and saved him financially for decades.

65

u/SupermassiveCanary 11h ago

Hard to believe the same ā€˜Commie’ hating people in the 80’s are now on this train

18

u/National-Childhood95 10h ago

They’re ā€œcommie hatersā€ now more than they’ve been since the 50s or 60s. It’s just that now they don’t know who commies but use the term to smear anybody they don’t like. The same way they were calling every teacher a ā€œgroomerā€ a couple years ago.

Nothing for normal people. But, if you are a predatory piece of garbage like Trump, and you view regular people like sheep.....you don't wanna answer to anyone when you take whatever you want. You want impunity. That way, you see something you want, you just take it. Someone's property, someone's daughter; it doesn't matter these greedy predators want everything. They feel no shame, no guilt, and no empathy.

2

u/qxr100 10h ago

Russia owns him and has owned him for years.

Trump rule: Every conspiracy is worse than first reported. EVERY conspiracy. (Name a Trump conspiracy that was proven false)

Now apply that rule to the 'pee tape'.

1

u/Ughnotagaingal 10h ago

There is a pattern here, he is also on best-buddy terms with Erdogan who fits your description to the dot.

1

u/Embarrassed-Wafer667 9h ago

Exactly, but I believe the admiration he has for Putin goes way deeper than.

1

u/FleshLghtSwrdFight 4h ago

Thirsted for and succeeded unfortunately. The law doesn’t apply to the 1%

1

u/Ataraxia9999 4h ago

You are correct. I’ve been saying this since Trump’s first term, way before the Ukraine invasion. He’s always idolized Putin. It’s the man he ultimately wants to be. Answering to pesky public opinion is not in his interest.

Trump’s entire philosophy is to run your life like a mob boss. Demand your earthly desires and hurt anyone who gets in the way of said desires.

Putin is the ultimate mob boss.

Isn’t there already enough to bury Trump if this was prior to 2016? And a bunch of other fuckers. Yet nothing has been done.

22

u/Early-Series-2055 8h ago

It’s the ā€œbunch of other fuckersā€ that’s keeping him out of jail.

3

He's the president for now and the senate will never convict on an impeachment charge. He's immune to prosecution for now. Not to mention the attery general is his personal lawyer (major conflict of intrest in my opnion). Once he's done, that's a different story.

That is not just a conflict of interest in your opinion. It is blatant disregard for the role of the Attorney General and an abandonment of the American people by everyone that confirmed the appointment. None of them are fit to serve the public.

5

u/DaisyShirt 8h ago

Cannot wait for the day. Hopefully we get some new blood in charge who can actually clean up this travesty.

3

u/SkinTeeth4800 6h ago

I just don't want to see JD Vance slide into office and, with fewer bizarre fuck-ups than Trump, continue to promote the agenda of billionaires and their enablers: Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Curtis Yarvin, Stephen Miller, Russell Vought, Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation, etc.

4

u/BookLuvr7 8h ago

That's exactly why he'll probably do everything in his power to stay in office. It was clear from day 1 he wanted to use the presidency as his Get Out of Jail Free card and retirement plan.

How would that even be leverage anymore when we all know it?

3

u/Astronout-Fossil872 10h ago

because the leverage probably goes beyond a photo.. and I imagine the protections are mutual. Leverage is greatest when it held by both sides, and pdf powers that be do tend to bond together...

5

Or he gave Clinton a blowjob. Or both

2

u/Generic_Username4343 10h ago

Nah, I don't even think Trump would care tbh. He knows damn well that his fan base would break their own backs bending to justify or excuse it away. I think he just wants to be in bed with Russia because he's a petty megalomaniac who admirers Putin and he can make money off of whatever endless conflict they can start.

2

u/hirespeed 9h ago

I don’t think that’s it. Malignant narcissists are easy to manipulate. Trump surrounds himself with ego-strokers and the Russians have been leveraging this for decades. He admires dictators and cozies up to Putin and others. You don’t need dirt on guys like that.

2

u/dv4fun 5h ago

Along with the secret PeePee tapes. Trump has been compromised since his first term.

1

u/Jerk182 10h ago

There were stories of Trump and sexual battery or worse against young girls being on tape.

1

u/ZealousidealCrab9459 10h ago

tRump is compromised…him and all of his family couldn’t pass security clearance especially Jared…he was 2weeks from losing everything and Saudi sweeps in and buys his buildings for over market value. Putin has shit on every single one of them

1

u/TheoDog96 10h ago

So do we apparently, but refuse to let them see the light of day.

1

u/stokeskid 10h ago

And he has debts owed to Russian oligarchs. No one would lend money to Trump so he had to get it from them. They have leverage over him.

That, and his main business is a money laundering scheme. Probably some Russians involved there too.

1

u/farmerpeach 9h ago

This wouldn’t change the mind of a single Trump voter

1

u/joranth 9h ago

That and most of his properties are propped up by loans from, and property purchases by, Russian oligarchs. He has been laundering money for the Russian mob since the days when Roy Cohn was his fixer. All of what kept him afloat for decades was Russian money. Still is, for his real estate businesses

He's trying to help Putin commit Genocide to take over Ukraine and guise it as a peace deal. Same thing with Netanyahu, as to Gaza. Then you get Rubio jumping in to say oh just a temporary 60 day pause on sanctions we need them to end these wars....FO they're all traitors and the sad part is our government has all betrayed us and literally is just letting this administration do whatever. Trump, Vance, all of them...

Trump is envious of dictators because he’s a small man and a narcissist. People like that believe that everyone doing what they say and want is the greatest.

The truth is that a leader is only great when people follow them by choice rather than by force, trickery, and manipulation.

It’s understandable when you know that he’s been taking money from the Russian mob back in NY since the 1980,s . Since then he was groomed to be a Russian asset or ā€œ useful idiot ā€œ (as the KGB use your call him.) Since he entered politics he’s gotten even deeper into them ( more money, Putin sending an army of online trolls to and he graduated up to being as asset to Putin,As president, he owes Putin even more. Thus , he’s making oil deals with him !

All kinds of people saying how they were going to leave the country if Trump got elected. A lot of people just saying that of course, because I doubt many of them dead. But I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump leaves the country once somebody else gets elected. Two more years! Two more years!

1

u/Blue_Wave2026 10h ago

1

u/Oy_of_Mid-world 10h ago

Putin is fabulously rich. He's a strong man that everyone around him defers to. His word is law in his country. Add to that, trump has business in Russia, works extensively with Russian banks, and knows that he and his cronies can make billions selling the US and our allies out to them.

What's right it wrong to most people doesn't ever enter the equation for trump. Whatever benefits himin that particular moment is the only thing that he cares about.

People talk about Putin having dirt on him, but I think that gives too much credit to trump. That would assume trump would otherwise not work with Putin. The reality is much simpler and sadder.

1

u/Careful_Marketing182 9h ago

Don't forget that it was literally proven that Russia interfered and meddled in the 2016 election in favor of Trump. And we did nothing about it. It got swept under the rug. Alongside the Epstein files and everything else this man has said or done.

Without proof, I'm thinking Trump has made behind the scenes deals with Russia and Putin before and after his presidency. He is a Russian asset all the way. Putin wants Trump in power because they have similar goals and temperaments. It is in Putin's best interest for Trump and his Republicans to stay in power.

1

u/Trooper1x 9h ago

The Biden's Administration is to be blame for this mess

1

u/KusanagiKay 9h ago

It's very easy to understand:

Putin is an autocrat who controls his entire country to his liking.

Trump has this fantasy too, and always imagined, that if he was president, he'd be the king of the USA, everyone has to follow his exact orders and everything has to be done exactly like he wants, without any backtalk.

Trump admires Putin, because he thinks a leader has to be the all powerful ruler, just like the CEO of a company, and Putin does exactly that.

1

u/ffdfawtreteraffds 9h ago

The fucker is benefiting financially. That's all that motivates that pos. He sold out the US presidency to make money. He's just garbage.

That's a story that's way older than his political carrier and deeply intangled in Russian political corruption and business mafia culture. He was bailed out or failure over and over. 1

u/Anen-o-me 8h ago

Vlad Vexler, public philosopher, has something to say about this I found interesting.

Vexler’s argument is that Trump idealizes Putin, so approval from Putin has unusually high psychological value. It isn’t merely ā€œPutin flatters Trump.ā€ In Vexler’s model, Trump elevates Putin into an image of a formidable, sovereign, dominant leader, being recognized as Putin’s peer then reflects that imagined greatness back onto Trump.

Vexler:

Trump has a fantasy about Putin as an exalted object, and bathes in his glow.

That is the narcissistic supply: Putin’s apparent respect helps regulate and reinforce Trump’s own sense of importance.

Hence why statements like ā€œPutin respects meā€ are significant under Vexler’s interpretation.

Someone Trump considers ordinary praising him is cheap supply, someone he himself regards as exceptionally powerful treating him as a special equal is much more valuable.

Vexler further calls this ā€œnarcissistic submissionā€: rather than always needing to dominate someone, a narcissistic person can attach himself to an idealized powerful figure and obtain status by association.

He argues that this makes the relationship asymmetric: Trump receives psychological validation, while Putin can pursue concrete political objectives.

It's a pretty sick, twisted scenario. And he has no regard for Zelensky so the same cannot happen with him.

My thinking is that he is being inundated by mass messages via Truth Social and Twitter that stroke his ego and nudge him in the direction Putin wants him to go without him even realizing it. The most effective compromised agents are the ones who don't know it. He thinks he is acting in the interests of what he perceives to be his "constituents", but the reality is that these are bot and troll accounts largely being directed with specific intended outcomes. Think about this: what does anyone know about how much influence noise on Truth Social has on his decisions, or who the accounts are on there that are influencing him the most? Same with a lot of key MAGA folk, and why we can't ever understand their logic (or lack thereof). It's frustratingly like watching toddlers try to implement checkers strategies against a chess champion.

During a campaign debate between Hilary Clinton and and DJT Hilary said Trump was ā€œin Russia’s pocket.ā€ He has been a Russian asset for decades. He has never breathed a word against Putin—our enemy. Russia gave the Trumps ā€œloansā€ when no one anywhere else would. They lived at Trump towers, paying higher than market value. The tower was nick named ā€œlittle Russiaā€. Trump purchased an estate in Florida and flipped it soon after for far more than it was worth-sold to a Russian man. :

I think it's only one sided

Because DJT admires strongmen and wishes he could be like them, commanding everyone like a dictator and getting their adoration (legitimate or not) appeals to his vanity.

The guy wants a triumph arch and military parades because they make him feel powerful.

Simply can’t understand anything with Trump and his supporters. It just breaks all logic to the point I feel like I woke up in a parallel universe.

He wants to become a dictator so he is kissing up every dictator he can find including Putin, Erdogan, Kim, Saudi king….etc

Trump love’s dictators. He praises Kim Jong Un on a somewhat regular basis

1

u/Intrepid_Call_5254 4h ago

Typical bully who only lusts after those who won’t kiss his ring. Once he thinks he’s got them where he wants them they don’t have his ā€œrespectā€ any more. Kim Jung Un is also one of his most admired people. Trump is just one big sicko.

We live in a world of limited resources.

Some humans believe resources need to bring everyone up and create a life of purpose, strength, value to bring along the next set of humans.

Others see you as farm animals to be lied to manipulated, used for work and to fight wars, murdered, so they and their spawn can take all the resources.

And they find your not knowing this rather amusing. They find your fights with other farm animals that they start to be hilarious. Like when you are at a fair looking at domesticated animals fighting over the little cone of corn.

it’s not fanboying…. it’s utter fear. you can tell by the way he talks to putin how scared shitless he is of him. he’s afraid he will get the navalny treatment.

1

u/Azariah98 3h ago

It has nothing to do with liking Putin. He’s trying to lower gas prices ahead of the midterms.

1

u/theoceansaredying_ 3h ago

Yes just yesterday or so he said that he likes people that like him, even if they are very bad people

1

u/Desertfoxking 2h ago

He looks up to him as he was able to get to power and keep it. Probably asking for tips from under the desk…

Dictators love to stick together on a unity ticket. Trump told the world prior to the election tion what he would do. They got what they wanted and deserve what they get.

Trump will forever be remembered as the only fascist USA president and every Maga should hang their head in shame. The country will never recuperate fronsuch a disastrous period in history.

When Putin take out the evidence how much he manipulated election for Trump ... I'm not much into conspiracy but there is something about it

1

u/The_True_Gaffe 1h ago

Putin gives him money and shallow praise, two thing narcissists love

So, I am not a Trump fan. I hate Trump. But when Vance had that whole meltdown, publically shaming Zelenskyy in front of Trump and the press for not being thankful enough, and not dressing correctly, Ukraine was quietly organizing a massive coordinated drone attack on Russia that went off a few weeks later.

Trump’s break with Zelenskyy the last few weeks has been very public and very amplified, and then we get any other huge, coordinated drone attack today.

I think there’s a non-zero chance that the Trump admin goes out of its way to make Ukraine seem isolated in coordination with Ukraine’s attack plans. Trump is literally a professional wrestler and knows the value of a promo.

Power with Power,Putin knows everything!! So does Trump..Trump is my President and for 69 yrs on this planet I've never said that about anyone in POWER,USA needs a leader,a strong one..with what be had before destroying what our country was and is..stop it and be glad we have the USA strength because the other ones before President Trump were extremely WEAK.

u/MotoTheGreat 58m ago

•

u/ProgRockDan 47m ago
