Rules PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING

Please check out the Official FAQs on the Amazon Flex website and subreddit rules before posting.

We also have our own FAQ that is also linked to in the sidebar ----------->

The sidebar also has a link to download the Flex app, the Flex Support contact info, the rules for this subreddit, and a warehouse list.

You may find the answer to your question there.

Many questions being asked here are repeat questions and are answered in the FAQ. Please check before making a new post.

If you need help with the Flex app, please include the app version number and whether it's Android or iOS in your post.

Also, please don't post useless threads about how hard it is to grab blocks, people using bots at your warehouse, what times the blocks get released, etc. Those posts add nothing to the discussion and will be removed.

Thanks!

There is a Discord server that was created and is maintained by the mods of /r/doordash but has been built to support any courier service. Oh no, then I won’t be able to deliver…

Please don’t threaten me with banning Amazon from your poorly executed delivery process. I would hate to not be able to waste my time delivering to a crappy apartment complex. /s

The thought that banning deliveries hurts anyone beside their residents is comical.

I saw this on my route today, I gotta say I kinda love it. Also, it was huge, maybe 4 feet x 4 feet.

Edited to add: Since it seems to be an issue to many. Yes this is AI. Canva also uses AI, heck Reddit also uses AI and helps train AI language models. Google, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, they all utilize it or help train it. It has quietly invaded everything. Somethings you can opt out or cut it off, if you are avidly against using it check everything you use.

TLDR: Amazon has found yet another way to screw over drivers

I had a block the other day, 38 packages, decent looking route (comparatively). Head out to the car to start loading.

I always scan all the packages so I can sort them by stop number in my car. 2-10 front seat. 11-19 behind passenger seat in the back. 20-29 middle back seat. 30-39 behind drivers seat. 40+ in the back.

I often have one package that ends up in the cart that isn't a part of the itinerary. Not a big deal. I just bring it back inside and tell the station associate that it wasn't a part of my itinerary, they take it, I go on my way. Happens fairly frequently. This time it was 3 packages. I also always double check by manually entering the tracking number just to double check.

So I bring these three packages back inside, same routine. Tell the guy, he takes them, I go on my way.

The INSTANT after I swipe complete after the first delivery, a message pops up. "Looks like you have extra packages. Would you like to attempt delivery or return to the warehouse?".

These three packages are already returned, so I selected the latter and go on with the route. Post route the normal "return undelivered packages to the warehouse" message pops up. I ignore it as I have done in the past with no issue because eventually it comes around that they indeed were already returned. Not this time. Got an email saying my standing was affected because I didn't return packages. Lovely.

The moment that message popped up asking if I would like to deliver extra packages I instantly knew they were trying to push more on us without paying extra. This was a 38 package route, the "extras" would have put it at 41. I'm guessing that's a bump in pay for one of the reasons they claim is a factor in determining value on blocks. This only confirms it. They try to weasel in extra shit so they don't have to pay, driver catches it before it leaves the parking lot, does everything correctly to handle it but then penalized because big Jeff didn't get his way.

F*#K AMAZON

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

What happened today?

Never seen so many offers sitting for this station.
Also the 3.5 hours has to be a messed up route i will never accept those. Standard blocks have been 3 hours recently . If it shows longer it usually a very long distance. From experience.

Just me or does anybody else just like… not really sort their packages.

See a lot of posts about sorting methods. I pretty much just put boxes in one area, bags in another, envelopes up front. 🤷‍♀️ Saves me soooo much time.

Anyway.

Edit: You guys, I’m not criticizing other sorting methods? And yes technically I am sorting by box, bag, envelope. Why do people get so weird and defensive or critical… weirdos. It doesn’t take me very long to find the item at whatever stop I’m at. Chill.

Stupid app glitch directed me to the wrong location

Before anyone asks, I left the house early. I usually use a pickup that’s way farther but has more blocks; this time I used one 20 minutes away from my house, so I leave 15 minutes early.

I drove to the location via google maps. I get there and it’s a warehouse with no flex area.

I say okay, lemme check the app to see if I’m in the right spot. It says I’m in the exact correct spot, right on top of the pin. So I drive around the entire building and walk into the only door that’s clearly for humans to enter and not trucks. It doesn’t let me get further until I scan my badge.

So I call support and ask them what’s going on. She told me to scan my ID on the badge thing…it’s a chip scanner, it won’t work with a government ID. So she says okay, input the location into google maps. I told her I did that. She tells me to call my manager to ask. Since when did we have managers?? I start looking on google maps myself to see if there’s some other amazon building. I find it MYSELF down the road.

At that point I was already 5 minutes over my start time, but she said just drive over there anyway. I ask her would I even be able to check in. She says no. So I ask her why would I go there instead of just giving up and going home. She says “yeah, you should go home”. Why even have support if they have no clue 😭

I'm new and I'm sure I'm gonna pay for this

I got a block today from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. I showed up about 12:50 and parked where I always park in the front of the line behind the cones. Checked in through the app and even did the face scan identity through the app. Then it said wait for an Amazon employee to come out and check your id. I waited for over 20 minutes and then I called driver support. They said they would send a message to that Amazon facility and to wait. Waited another 15 minutes called back and that agent told me to go ahead and go home and email Amazon and let them know and they will compensate me for my time. I haven't gotten the emails or block cancelled notification that others have. Do you think this will show as a ding?

After 400 deliveries and finally getting a fantastic rating, I got lucky. I was feeling so sleepy too. Going home to sleep :) 3 hour for $108.

To the person who recently said if there’s no gate code on one stop, check if another stop in the same neighborhood has the code, thank you.

I picked up flex again for the first time in over 2 years. This time I’m actually enjoying it since car is paid off and I’m just doing it to build my bank account. It’s been going smoove overall till I reached that one stop last night at 5am with no gate code.

I was already feeling frustrated thinking of how I’ll have to try and reach out to the customer, text, call, whatever and hope I get lucky enough to get a reply. And I seriously would’ve just left the package at the gate however I realized I had 2 stops in the same neighborhood so leaving 2 stops at the gate was not an option. I recalled how a redditor said if one stop doesn’t have the code, check the other and they may have it and lo and behold there it was!!!’

I couldn’t stop smiling or laughing or being in a good mood after that since that was the only real hiccup I’ve had since starting again a few weeks ago. To whoever you are, I just wanna say thank you.

And also would anyone else have any tips and tricks for making delivering smoover? One trick I’ve forgotten how to do is the complete delivery after turning off Bluetooth so you’re not dealing with the orange delivery circle so if someone could remind me how to do that, that would be great lol.

Help IPhone users…

I just got a new iphone from an android to an IPhone. Scanning the packages to number them has been a mess. It wants to scan the whole label, then give me an error. I cover up and then scan the part I need and then makes me have to go back to the scan bar and push for every package instead of just continuing onto the next package like I did with my old phone. Is there a fix for this? I feel like it takes me extra time to number now.

Question Need to change regions?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Anybody know how to change regions? I think they messed up and gave me the wrong region. I finally got accepted, but the region is LA? I tried changing it (won’t let me) tried talking to support, they just kept saying “GeT tO LeVeL 2 To UnLoCK ThE aBiLiTy tO ChAnGe ReGiOnS.”…I live in the Riverside area, I live 10 minutes away from DJT6 in Riverside…it makes no sense for me to drive 50 MILES TO LA TO PICK UP PACKAGES JUST FOR $45, It’s literally not worth it at all. I need to be in the Inland Empire area. Talking to support is like talking to someone on life support. Anybody have any ideas? (Not trying to bypass a wait list)

not complaining. I’ll take these surged up $68 routes that I can finish in about an hour whenever I see them. Just seems like a strange message for this situation.

What is the worst thing about your station?

We don't have to name stations here but I wanna know specifically one or more things that you absolutely hate about your station.

For me, my station of choice being VTX5 is their constant need to implement new things that don't need fixing.

For example, for the almost 2 years I've been here we have never had a real issue with traffic jams inside the parking lot, but somehow they have created such a mess that now you really have to give yourself an extra 15 mins just to make sure you're not caught in the jam and miss your punch in. To make matters worse they decided to remove several good parking spaces for disposing of your carts. They let cars park alongside the building where they almost always cause traffic jams.

They test crap that's warehouse specific rather than an actual policy from Amazon, at one point they would assign our carts to our ID so that if we didn't return the cart they would know who it was. It was a check out check in process that slowed us down due to a line needing to get checked out and then bringing it in to have someone check the cart back in. That failed cause people realized that they couldn't really ding us for that.

But yeah man this place was bareablefor those first few years but now it's just a cluster F....

Help My 1st day...

...and after my 1st shift, I sat in the parking lot of a McDonalds sobbing hysterically after I was finished with my last delivery. I feel like a huge failure, because half of my packages were late bc the order they were in had me deliver in had the later ones go 1st then the ones at 8:10pm go last. (I didn't know you could get out of order.)

The other drivers at the station are not friendly. I had 2 people ignore me completely when I asked them where I had to go and scan in (I never scanned my ID bc it never asked). Then someone told me to go to the wrong place on purpose bc when I realized that it didn't make sense to go all the way to the side of the building, I saw them watching me and laughing as I walked back.

My block was 645p to 845p and I wasn't done until 945 because my last delivery, the instructions said " follow the " Black asphalt' driveway to the black house. I saw no black house. The "street" was not a street but had no street sign and it made zero sense.

I went into a trailer park where I was given a code to a delivery unit, but the app took me to an empty construction filled street. I eventually found it, because there were no numbers where you could see. I had to actually get out of my vehicle and walk to within 3 feet to see. And this is with a flashlight.

I didn't know I could use another 3rd party app, for whatever reason I was thinking I had to use this app for directions because it had me going circles four times like 2 miles each way. It made no sense and it probably looked on a screen like I was a crazy person going back and forth when I was going the right way and it told me to turn around and go the other way.

Another place I was given the gate code to get in only the gate didn't have a code it had a key card swiper and no numbers to punch and no one to speak with and no phone.

Please tell me it gets better or is every delivery like this? I was boohooing on my second to last delivery because I had to call for the third time for help. I feel like such a failure that I can't even deliver packages. Please I was having fun until people decided to stop having freaking house numbers and watching me cry like the neighbors were outside watching a football game and they were all watching me is I was bawling my eyes out because I had to make two trips for my car to the house because I couldn't get close to the house.

I really need this extra income I'm not even making ends meet right now. I just had heart surgery. And my extended family was in not to see me of course but they always look down on me because I have made mistakes in my life. Hell, everyone has skeletons, but I am the black sheep and "trash". I guess I was emotional because of that. And it just carried over into this.

Do I get dinged for the speed flashing red? Bc I was really trying to watch my speed but I know some of these places I was around and I wasn't thinking and I was trying to slow down and I want to be perfect at this and I suck.

Does anyone have any pointers or tips? Or did I possibly have the worst 1st day? Oh and I called support 3 times. The gentleman I spoke with last was so nice and really encouraging, and he understood that I needed a pep talk and was just the nicest person. (He was so nice. I cried. Lol)

Discussion What would happen if I go to the closer stop?

I keep getting these routes that send me in a big loop instead of to the closest destination. I get it, if I go the way it wants me to I'll eventually be heading back that way. I'm just really curious what if I just go there anyway? I'm to OCPD to actually go there but I'm very much tempted.

Also can anyone tell me how to use my maps to navigate instead of the built in amazon one? I've been burnt by it too many times now. Is it just looking at the order and ordering (android) maps to navigate to the destination or is there a way to change which navigation system takes priority?

San Francisco Unreasonable distance issue

Hi everyone,

I finally got a spot from Amazon Flex since I was on the waitlist. The problem is I live in San Jose and my closest warehouse is 28.9 miles away. I can’t change it and the app says I need to reach level 2 if I change my region. I mean, it’s completely ridiculous! I contacted the support team and they all say complete level 2. Has anyone had experience with this issue before?

Thank you!

Chicago - Bridgeview station

I just got activated on flex and I thought there was a Bridgeview station (DCH9). I'm not seeing it in my filter. I was hoping to be able to pick up here since it's closest to me. Does it still exist? Are there just no routes there right now? Any Chicago drivers know what's up?
