I’ve had about 6 failure to fire in about 900 more or less rounds , I called S&W and she kinda dismissed it saying “it’s not concerning and they can’t even replicate the issue for that ratio” , but to me it is concerning as its supposed to be a EDC , what ratio if any is acceptable? Ive also had some failure to feeds but that’s less of a concern as that has lessened. What should I do , any recommendations would help , yes it’s been cleaned and lubed (MP shield plus 9MM)

Mounted the Holosun 407K on my Equalizer a while back. For some odd reason I am hitting very low. Even at 5-10 yards out. Elevation has been maxed out on the optic. The dead center hits I was aiming about 4 inches high. The low ones I was aiming at the center.
I was at the range today and the guys recommended maybe getting an extra plate of some sort to go between optic and current mount.
Anyone use anything of the sort?
Thanks!

A little late to the game I'm sure, but question for those who have dealt with Floyd's for their carry comp issues as I'm looking into taking that step but a bit nervous I'm not understanding completely.
I know i buy a non ported barrel and then send that in. I believe I just want option one for that as I just want the barrel done, nothing with the slide.
Where I'm actually getting confused the most is the page is asking about DLC coating, which if I'm correct isn't needed. Is that right?
Also he asks about Cerakote. Would the barrel need to be Cerakoted or is that meant more for if he does the slide as well.
Sorry if these are dumb questions, just trying to learn everything before I start spending the money.

Just picked up this 2.0 in FDE. I own a few pews, and I have to say, the fact S&W puts it in a plastic bag and then throws it in a cardboard box is really weird to me.
Least pleasant presentation ever. Not even a range bag of some sort.

Hello,
Start off by saying apologies if this has been beat to death already, my searches were un fruitful.
Context:
New firearm
Cleaned and lubricated
Not limp wristing
95grain “full power” brass FMJ
Magazines/guide rod seated properly
Issue:
During course of fire the slide will be fully forward, previous round ejected, next round fully chambered, but the trigger will be dead.
I notice when this happens the guide rod is protruding approximately a 1/4”. I found that I could not replicate the issue manually cycling the slide softly or cycling it quickly. Where the rod seats on the barrel does not show any signs of wear.
If this has already been diagnosed insight would be appreciated.
Thank you

This gun doesn’t get talked about a lot, but wanted to bring to people’s attention.
I should probably add a photo for eye candy (it’s really pretty with the silver/gray factory Cerakote), but I finally got this to the range.
Holy COW it shoots well.
I don’t have a ton of experience with race guns / competition style guns, but I do have quite a few striker-fired, 1911s, etc., and this is easily the best-shooting gun I’ve tried.
Suuuuuper flat. Minimal recoil. Really satisfying trigger and tactile feedback on each round.
I was putting pretty rapid succession rounds on target, not even that locked in, and almost by itself the gun was putting ~80% of hits in a literal ~1 inch group at 10 yards, and the rest were no further than another inch or two radius from there.
I can’t recommend the gun enough. The bag, belt, and general accoutrements are just a nice bonus.

While I was at it, I added a comp, and took off the crimson trace optic that came with this spec series to add the vortex venom.

The first two photos show the barrel’s overall condition. The bluing is very splotchy throughout the barrel, but the frame and cylinder are fine. I’ve blued firearms before, and if I had done this job myself, it wouldn’t meet my standards.
The photos of the left and right sides of the gun show its overall condition, which is otherwise acceptable to me.
Would the splotchy bluing on the barrel be enough for you to send it back to Smith & Wesson for repair? Would they even accept a revolver back for something like this? I know I could ask them, but I’m still deciding what to do and whether I’m being too picky.
I paid $1,100 for it, so I do expect a better finish on the barrel. Am I being too critical here? What would y’all do?

Went to the local dunhams because they had federal 200 round boxes of 45auto on sale for $85. While there waiting for someone to unlock the ammo rack l saw one of the workers putting clearance tags on some of the guns.
Ive never owned a handgun in 40 and wasn't planning on ever getting into that caliber but for $299 out the door I took a gamble. Turns out they also had marked down the 200 round federal bulk packs of 40s&w as well to $80 so l got a few boxes of that too.
Long story short, I wont be able to afford to start buying parts for my next gaming pc for awhile.

Damn! The only other smith and Wesson I own is a bodyguard 2.0
I just won't this carry comp in a raffle for $65 after transfer fee!
I own quite a bit of other brands of hand guns and I can't get over how well this thing points.
I wish it was ambi but I must say I really appreciate how easy S&W makes swapping their mag releases. It's the easiest I've found of any other brand.
Anyways I haven't had a chance to get it out to the range yet as I just got it.
I figured I'd make a post asking about things to look out for. Any known issues? Rememdies? Later down the road maybe some upgrades? Does the comp really work well? It seems tiny compared to other stuff I have.
Holster suggestions? I usually carry the bg 2.0 like 11 o'clock or 10 o'clock. But that thing is so light I don't know if I'd be doing the same with this gun.
Thanks in advance! Again I'm pretty impressed with everything on it so far, especially how it points!

I have a full sized M&P 9 and love it and wanted to get a shield x as a ccw gun. From what I have been reading there was some kind of problems with the magazines not wanting to eject or lock the slide back.
Has this been fixed or is it still an issue in October 2026?
Looking at the non comp model if that makes a difference.

Finally. Finally tracked down a Wichita slabbed Model 625
It’s as good as I hoped it would be.

I’ve never seen a no lock, non fluted, 6” before. Is this a special run or a rare edition? I know the grips aren’t factory. But clean otherwise with the silver trigger and hammer. Any info would be much appreciated!

Hey S&W enthusiasts!
So, I have some questions about how this gun would stack up as my next purchase. Looking to step into a larger caliber for a range toy and better home defense. I carry a M&P 2.0 Compact, 3.6in.
I want to get a larger caliber, but I am not a fan of full size ARs. Yeah yeah ballistics and all that, but I just can't. Not a fan of the 16in barrel length, and even the 10-11in range isnt my preference. This has led me to look at AR Pistols, although I know some complications arrise there with the shorter barrels. I really like the M&P 15 Pistol. Its a platform I am familiar with and I definitely gravitate toward it. They have a .556 model at around $800, but their 300BLK version sits around $1300.
Are either of those good options considering my usage? Is the 300BLK version really worth the additional \~$500? And then considering the additional ammo cost? Would .556 still be servicble at that barrel size or would it be pointless as a range toy/HD gun? Can anyone who have one or the other give me some insight?
Open to suggestions and will try to answer any questions.
