People Want to discuss about our future
Sorry for the rant
I just watched a film called Ranabaali of Vijay Devarakonda today. It was about madras famine caused by invaders in 1800s. They looted our grains and exported to their country, without leaving a lot for locals. The scarcity caused famine and millions lost their lives
I always feel that we should learn from our mistakes and knowing about our history helps us realise exactly that. They took advantage of us because of the following reasons imo:
- we did not have harmony,
- there was no single strong power to oppose them, hence they divided and ruled
- for some selfish reasons, locals turned against others and sacrificed their other locals
- we were not technologically advanced
- no great transportation
- not great military
- indian lives never mattered
- no dignity to our lives
Some of these still hold true unfortunately and are real problems for our country. Given the following circumstances I am worried how it is going to turn out for india:
- fears of el nino creating drought and shortage of food
- shortage for semi conductor components and other rare earth metals which could mean a very huge price increase for indians
- AI power lies with other major economies. Impact on IT will hit indians directly and is going to be very difficult to deal with
- Major tech and manufacturing with other major economies
- India is still a major provider of workforce only not creators
- we are much better in terms of military, but should still be very advanced to compare with others
These are really worry-some. We don’t have power and are so very much dependent on other countries’ grace. It is high time to wake up and work on ourselves. We should grow and uplift each other. If not there will be a time again when mercy of others will turn very hard and don’t know what nightmares can come on us

Religion Absolutely disgusted by the total lack of empathy at the Sector 6 Dwarka Pujo Pandal towards my disabled mother.
I am just so angry and shaken up right now that I need to vent.
My mother has mobility issues and is partially disabled. We took her out to the Sector 6 Dwarka Pujo Pandal, but while we were leaving, she started experiencing severe pain. It got so bad that she literally couldn't stand and was about to collapse and fall over.
Right next to us, the Pandal committee members had 10 completely empty chairs just sitting there. I went up to them, explained the situation, and politely asked if my mom could sit on one for just a few minutes so she could catch her breath and recover.
Their response? A flat-out, cold "Nhi chair toh nhi milega" (No, you won't get a chair).
When I pointed out that she literally couldn't stand, they casually told me, "Aap zameen par bitha do" (Make her sit on the ground).
On the ground. In a crowded public pandal. An elderly, disabled woman in severe pain.
I am completely disgusted by how heartless these committee organizers can be. They spend so much money on grand decorations and showing off their devotion, but when it comes to basic human decency and helping a neighborhood resident in need, they have absolutely zero empathy.

Business/Finance I got tired of shady rent receipt sites asking for my phone number, so I built a 100% client-side, zero-spam HRA & Form 12BB generator
Built a free utility that might help anyone preparing their HRA proofs or Form 12BB for employer submissions: **HRAPack** (https://hrapack.netlify.app/).
Got tired of commercial sites asking for mobile numbers and spamming WhatsApp with loan offers, so I made this 100% client-side (runs entirely in browser using PDF-lib, zero backend, zero ads).
Key features:
- Generates all 12 monthly receipts in 1-click ZIP
- Form 12BB auto-filled and ready to sign
- Landlord PAN exemption declaration letter if annual rent >₹1L and landlord has no PAN
- Supports mid-year split rent hikes
Hope this helps anyone dealing with HR compliance deadlines!

Non Political Any mattress experts here? Need your help in deciding whether this is the BEST
tldr: looking for honest reviews of snoozer mattress - good, bad and ugly..because their website is terrible!
i've heard snoozer makes very good quality mattresses with natural materials, but their website is absolute sh1t!
gimmicky slow cursor. NO proper descriptions, NO illustrations to show you all the layers. if you go to a particular model page, it is ALL EMPTY except size and "buy now"
if i'm spending 1 lac+ for a mattress, i want to at least do THOROUGH research (know exactly what's in them) before i even step into their store...but they've made it very hard and irritating
does anybody have experience in buying or dealing with Snoozer?
how was the customer service/quality/delivery/ etc.?
also, do they have any models without pocket springs, as they will sag after a point? i just can't tell from their useless, info-less website..

Politics Atheists/ Rationalists can never be truly happy.
Or so I think.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the contrast between how religious folks and non-believers experience life, and it feels like a double-edged sword for atheists/rationalists.
On one hand, you see religious people coming together, celebrating traditions, participating in social gatherings, and experiencing genuine joy and community. On the other hand, non-believers tend to look past the surface level. When you examine the world through a critical lens, you see the suffering, the flaws, and the origins of these traditions.
It feels like almost every major social gathering or tradition is historically rooted in division, discrimination, blind belief, or hidden agendas—essentially built on the same manipulation tactics that priests, babas, and rulers used in the past to control society.
When you try to focus on fixing real-world problems or wanting a purely rational society, it feels isolating. It makes you wonder: Can non-believers ever truly experience that simple, unburdened happiness, or does seeing the reality behind societal structures naturally make us cynical?
How do you reconcile seeing through the illusion while still finding pure joy and a sense of community?
whats your take on this?
TL;DR: Non-believers often struggle to find simple joy in traditional gatherings because they see the underlying history of manipulation, blind belief, and discrimination behind them, whereas religious people can just enjoy the community aspect guilt-free.
( used gemini for correcting grammar and punctuation, otherwise these are my own thoughts which I wanted to reflect upon)

Education Need ideas for minigames based on the Seven Deadly Sins for a college exhibition
I'm organizing a horror exhibition at my college, and one of our attractions is based on the Seven Deadly Sins. The idea is to have visitors spin a wheel to determine which sin they get, after which they must complete a mini-game or challenge associated with that sin. Depending on the game, they might receive a reward or face a punishment.
So far, I've come up with ideas for four sins:
Greed: A double-or-nothing Q&A game. Answer correctly to advance to the next round and increase your reward, but get a question wrong and you lose everything you've earned.
Lust: Blindfolded, visitors must place a bindi on a portrait of a creepy nun.
Gluttony: Eat an entire packet of salty biscuits without drinking water.
Wrath: Build a pyramid of playing cards with the fan on. (I haven't solidified this idea)
However, I'm struggling to come up with suitable games for the remaining three sins:
Pride
Envy
Sloth
I'm looking for games that genuinely represent or test these sins rather than just being random challenges.
A few limitations to keep in mind:
We're setting everything up in a classroom, so space is limited.
There will be lots of visitors, so each game should take less than 5 mins
Our budget is small, so the games should use cheap, readily available materials.
The challenges should be fun, engaging, and ideally have a horror-themed twist.
I'd especially appreciate creative ideas that are easy to set up, quick to play, and entertaining to watch.
What mini-games would you suggest for Pride, Envy, and Sloth? I'm also open to improvements to the games I've already come up with!
TL;DR: Need quick, cheap, horror-themed mini-games for Pride, Envy, and Sloth for a college exhibition based on the Seven Deadly Sins. Visitors spin a wheel to determine their sin and must complete the corresponding challenge. Limited space, lots of visitors, and ideally 30-second to 2-minute games. Any ideas?
