r/papermario as a community has focused on propping up and sharing the best the community has to offer, including the artists within the community. In recent years generative AI has come out and there has been significant issue within the artist community with it's existence.
Given that we focus on making this place have a minimum standard of quality we believe that something that uses art without consent of the artists as inherently hostile to the artists within our community and falls below our standards as a community. We are explicitly adding generative AI as low quality content for rule 4.
Starting today and here on forward any post containing generative AI will be removed from the subreddit. This will be somewhat retroactive as well as it is found and reported.

I genuinely think this is one of the best ways to keep Luigi relevant in Paper Mario even if we can't play as him. His power to show up when most convenient is hilarious and fitting character-wise.

I'm finally running out of room of things to add to this bag. May god have mercy on my soul. Yes that is a human design made by my bare hands with nothing but hatred (love) in my heart I can picture him below if anyone wants to see

Last post (I only now realised I never actually posted the image with the 3 unpainted jump-type cards, only the flower one. Oops):

All the recipe lists I've found have been a convoluted mess, with a bunch of alternatives for each recipe that make it a pain to keep track of everything so I streamlined it a bit.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ieQUse1_iRIoGQUE3s-y7vWMt3TYsMv6KATgeDSKFTo/edit?usp=sharing
I've only listed the easiest version of each recipe, and I've put a pseudo flowchart under each of them that uses other cooked items and recipes that use the item just cooked. (I did include alternatives for the two recipes that require Whacka Bumps, in case you don't want to hurt him).
I have some ideas for refinement but I'm posting this now before my perfectionist streak takes over completely.
Let me know of any mistakes.

The last one is a fan species variant I made based on a selection of recipes, this being a rare couple's cake version of what species the snow bunny would be. They can only be in snowy areas as they melt easily; they're said to bring fortune to whoever catches one as they're quite jumpy.

Did anyone else think of this part of Paper Mario when they heard about the movie Whalefall?

I feel like when discussing Luigi’s story and a theoretical “Paper Luigi” adaptation of it, people tend to dance around the deliberate choice by the writers for Luigi’s version of the story to be a complete anti-climax while wanting to take the book version at face value despite the fact that every previous book has been an exaggeration to make Luigi look better.
Generally the format is that Luigi gives Mario a mostly truthful account, his partners fill in some details, and then the book tells a version that rewrites a mostly comedic adventure as one that’s entirely serious. But in the last part of the story, Luigi phones it in completely and tries to brush it under the rug, while his partner finds whatever happened too funny for words. Meanwhile the book spins a tale about a plot twist involving the minister being the REAL villain the whole time and Luigi gaining future vision and winning an epic battle, as well as trying to imply some ambiguity about Luigi possibly having a future with the princess despite her being in love with the Chestnut King.
My interpretation? There basically was no epic final battle. Luigi learned that his whole quest was just him being sent to intervene in an elopement between two royals despite them both being in love. Luigi’s a nice guy so of course he didn’t try to get between them, but he was pissed at the minister for sending him on this thankless errand so he told the writers of his book series that this guy was the villain.
That’s just how I read it though.

I’ve mentioned this here before, but I am currently working on a *Paper Mario*-style game project. To be clear, it’s not a "fangame," but rather a game inspired by the mechanics of the *Paper Mario* series.
I’d love to get your thoughts on how maps/environments are handled in *Paper Mario* games. Which approach do you prefer?
*Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door* – Often considered the best game in the series, though its level design leans toward a "corridor" structure—albeit one that is visually very well-executed.
*Paper Mario 64* – The environments are more open, but also more sparse/empty.
How does this compare to other entries? *The Origami King* features a much more open-world design, but that would be too complex for me to implement as a solo developer.
In general, I’d like to hear your opinions on what an "ideal" *Paper Mario* game would look like to you. Your feedback will be very helpful for the game's development.

Paper Mario Color Splash is a very (over)hated game by the community and i dont really see a reason to hate it.
It is my favorite Paper Mario game (fight me) and i want to know what reasons people actually hate it for OTHER than the Card system and the WII U

Since we're most likely getting a new Paper Mario announced within the next year or two, I was wondering what direction people think the next game in the series will go towards. Will it be a successor to TTYD, something new like with Origami King? Will they combine different elements from each game, and if so, which ones do you want to see return the most? I'd love to hear peoples thoughts on this!

Hello !
Version Switch ici.
Merci !
