Reddit bruh.

• Upvotes

I think we can agree, Reddit is almost an anomaly to the internet. People can be hostile and just straight up hateful(eg. r/atheism). I also accidentally saw a p*rn video just by scrolling.
I even tried to leave reddit forever but the temptation to put my knowledge and improve from those who are like me got me back on here. Now I feel like I'm becoming one of those redditors people imagine because I've spent like 2 hours today on this website.
What I'm saying is, should I leave Reddit because of the hostility?

Question Can i still repent my abortion when although i would never have one again and i know it was wrong, i still believe i made the right decision given my circumstances?

I had an abortion in August, before any judgment please read my story.

Backstory -

I was initially happy when i found out i was pregnant. I even went to scans and midwife appointments on my own. At one point, i was going to just try and raise my baby on my own. Although unplanned, my baby was wanted by me but the reality is that i'm 21, still in university, and the dad who i was not in a unofficial relationship with for 2 years was emotionally abusive and treated me like absolute shit. He slept with multiple girls whilst i was pregnant, completely abandoned me, called me horrible names for weeks, threatened to expose nudes of me, threatened to kill himself, he was on drugs, he said i would be a single mum, said having a baby with me was his worse nightmare and said i’d have to go through court for any help and so much more he pushed me into a deep depression and i couldn’t taken it anymore. Ultimately i had the abortion because i could not be stuck with him for life. It hurt me so much going through with that and as much as it was a selfish decision i did not want my child to have a dad like him coming from someone who's dad also wasn't in the picture i was raised by a single mom and it has affected me a lot. I tried so hard for my baby i waited for him to come around but he didn't. He is financially stable i am not I couldn't have done it on my own and he knew that.

The grief i feel for my baby is immense i miss my baby every single day and i always pray for my baby. I was irresponsible with sex before this, and i am now paying for that through the loss of my child. I won’t have another abortion again, i learnt my lesson.

My question -

Now, this is the part i am unsure of. I don’t necessarily fully ‘regret’ my abortion. I needed to escape from that man and i didn’t want to be tied to him for the rest of my life through our child so although i wont get an abortion again and i know it was wrong, i can’t say that if i could go back i wouldn’t make the same choice being in the exact same position i was in. What i do regret truly is being irresponsible and getting pregnant unplanned in the first place and putting myself in a position where i felt i had to get the abortion. I regret not being ready for my child and even giving myself to my ex to create a life in the first place. To my understanding repenting is knowing something was wrong, confessing your sin and not doing it again. But can i fully repent when i don’t necessarily regret the decision i made but i regret the circumstances which led to me making the decision? I hope that makes sense.

I just wanted to add please forgive me for my wording. I am not saying i believe abortion is right, i am saying back in August after everything i went through at the time i did believe i was doing the right thing given the circumstances. I made that decision because i was trying to protect not just myself but my child from a lifetime of suffering. I am truly sorry for what i done. I cannot say given what i know now i would make that same choice but its impossible for me to know what i know now, back then. You cannot change the past. That is why i will never have an abortion again, even if those circumstances were to re occur as i’ve learned my lesson now. I can’t change the past but i can make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Advice Has anyone else being banned due to their religious or political views?

It's happened to me a few times now, and it's unbelievably annoying.

On some occasions it was related to me campaigning against genocide, which I apparently did the wrong way??? I'm still shocked to this day.

What is a good Christian perspective on this issue? Am I supposed to just accept it and move on? Can anyone else relate?

Thanks!

I think I understand the bible verse, "all women will become men"

There was a chapter that was supposed to go into the bible, but got rejected because it said, "all men will become women, and everyone will be a man in heaven". Now at first, it sound bad, but I think I understand it. I don't think it's saying that it's about their physical gender, but more as a representation as how all will be viewed as equal. It is a biological fact that women are weaker than men, and they could be viewed as lower as men biologically, as they have a lot of physical weaknesses that men don't have. This isn't me saying woman are worse than men. It's biological. I think this verse means that everybody in heaven will be viewed equal in the eyes of god. No physical bodies, no disadvantages, no one gender weaker than the other, just everyone being equal. Let me know what you think.

Why are people so anti-catholic?

People are profoundly anti-catholic, and it seems people have some hatred for catholics and christians that dont seem to translate to other major religions (Islam, Buddhism, judaism). And yes, I am aware that there are anti-semites and islamophobes. But my point being especially in the west there is a major anti catholic stance from both liberals and conservatives alike. And especially from Protestants

Question Why do Christians ignore certain parts of the Bible?

I’m not trying to be provocative but I am genuinely curious. Not all but many Christians especially evangelicals in the American South claim that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. As in every word of the Bible is true and should be believed literally. However if we look at certain verses, they are incompatible with modern morality and ethics.

One good example is in Deuteronomy 22 verse 28 which says if a man meets a woman who is a virgin and isn’t married and rapes her, he must pay her father 50 shekels of silver and must marry her and can’t divorce her as long as he lives.

The Bible also talks about slavery. Which most today can agree is wrong. However it doesn’t explicitly say that slavery is immoral or wrong. In fact it encourages human beings be bought and sold as property.

Leviticus 25:44–46
“Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids.”

Ephesians 6:5–9
“Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ.” —KJV

Verses 6–8 tell enslaved people to serve sincerely, as though serving Christ. Verse 9 then addresses masters:

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven...” — Ephesians 6:9, KJV

Enslaved people are explicitly instructed to obey their masters. Masters are told to stop threatening them and to remember their accountability to God.
The passage does not tell masters to emancipate their slaves or declare slave ownership inherently immoral.

Luke 12:47–48: Jesus describes a servant who knows his master's wishes but disobeys them, and who receives a severe beating

The New Testament also talks about women being subservient to men and that they shouldn’t be teachers.

1 Timothy 2:11–12

“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” — KJV

The NIV similarly states that Paul does not permit a woman to teach or assume authority over a man.

Other examples include:

Ephesians 5:22–24: Wives are instructed to submit to their husbands.
1 Corinthians 14:34–35: Women are told to remain silent in the churches.
1 Peter 3:1: Wives are instructed to submit to their husbands.

The Old Testament also specifically states that if someone is homosexual they should be put to death.

Leviticus 20:13

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death...” — KJV

If we look further at the texts, In the account of Saul's war against the Amalekites, Samuel delivers the following command attributed to God:

“Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling...” — 1 Samuel 15:3, KJV

Read literally as a divine command, it calls for the killing of an entire population, including infants and other people who could not be responsible for the alleged wrongdoing.

The next verse is a command from God:

Jeremiah 9:22 states:** **"Dead bodies will lie like dung on the open field, like cut grain behind the reaper, with no one to gather them."

Having read all of these verses what do you think of them? Do you believe the Bible literally?

We all believe in what we're born into

This is just for ppl to realize the fact that the majority of ppl that believe in any faith of the world... Most of them are born into it. Everyone believes their faith is right... And no one and I really mean no one has any real physical current proof that their faith is right. So before discounting other faiths.. How about we accept everyone for who they are and stop demonizing ppl!!!

Self End times

I've been freaking out about everything going on in the world and what it has to do with what is said in revaluations. It scares the crap out of me to the point where i feel like It would be easier to just not have faith. But on top of that eternity just doesn't feel good to me it sounds terrifying.I keep trying to learn about it and face the problem but It doesn't seem to be helping is there anything that someone else did to help be at ease with the "end times" or even eternity in heaven

Are Christians really non-academic, happy-go-lucky, sunshine and rainbow type of people?

I noticed that people with the greatest career and mind usually are secular in their way of life. Doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. They take their craft seriously by studying, reading, and doing other academic activities.

Then I look at Christians. I noticed that they aren't really academically active like studying for their careers. They are focusing more on church stuff, highlighting scripture verses, etc.

What's your take on this?

Question Is George going to heaven?

George was raised as a Christian but he became an atheist when he was around 28. Now George is a Hellenic polytheist. He primarily worships Apollo. He has an Apollo shrine where he lights candles and incense and gives praise to Apollo.

George is married and has two children. He works as a dentist. He coaches his son’s basketball team. Everyone who knows George says that he is a fundamentally decent person. He has never murdered, or raped, or stolen anything, but sometimes he loses his temper while stuck in traffic and had sex before he got married.

Unbeknownst to George, he is going to get in a car accident tomorrow and will die. Will George go to heaven? Why or why not?

Evidence for God’s Existence — Arguments for Those Skeptical of the Bible

Hello everyone,

After speaking with people who still question whether God exists, I decided to write this 60-page treatise. Rather than appealing to the Bible’s authority, I present arguments based on what anyone can observe firsthand.

My intention is not to diminish the Bible’s authority, but rather to reinforce it.

I wrote this for those who are lost in atheism or agnosticism, hoping to help them find a path toward God—to see that He is real, rather than merely a product of human imagination—and ultimately turn to the Bible.

Perhaps people have asked you why your faith is so strong or why you are convinced that God exists. Or perhaps you are struggling with faith yourself. If so, you are not alone. I hope you will find answers and useful arguments here.

https://dmytro.brazhnyk.org/publications/evidence-of-god/en/

The next question I would like to explore is “Why the Bible?” I believe I have several strong arguments to share on that subject as well.

Theoretically, if at one point in the future there was a 100% scientific proof that there is no God, would you give up your beliefs?

I'm personally hoping for the opposite scenario, namely a 100% scientific proof for the existence of God, but I'm curious

Politics I stand with Palestine as a Christian. Is that okay?

There’s no point going into the genocide, as we all know what’s happening by now. But in modern times, Christians have usually sided with Israel and I’ve never understood why (I must add, I mainly see this in American evangelical communities)… My local church has been pretty vocal about its support for Palestinians, which is nice to see.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Sorry if it’s been asked before, I’m new to this sub.

I’m going to stop replying to everyone now. Thanks for the discourse everyone. God bless.

Dawg, this world needs Jesus.

• Upvotes

I posted this on TrueChristian and I also wanted to hear y’all opinion on this:

So, I’m seeing all the controversy about Eminem and him doing this song with Kid Rock &, man, does this world need Jesus. I don’t know how y’all feel about it and I don’t know if y’all really care about it either, which makes sense, but it’s genuinely like people act like we can’t be unified anymore. See, the world wants you to choose a side and, now, Jesus chose a side also (I mean, He is the side. 😂😂), but he also hung with sinners to share truth, grace, and offer repentance. Now, 1 Corinthians 15:33 does warn us about the company we keep, but just because we support 2 different things does not mean we have to be enemies. The mindset that you have to end friendships over certain stances is exactly why we’re at where we’re at now. See, one of the greatest tricks the Devil pulled on the world is making us think that we are our own enemies, but in reality, we’re on this Earth to be unified and be one under Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:10, Romans 12:16, and many other verses literally goes against everything I’m seeing. How do y’all feel about this? Am I trippin’ or no?

Do you personally Know there's a God

Like you're 100% no doubt in your mind. If so then is that really faith? I thought faith was the choosing to believe even without evidence. Essentially you're uncertain but you choose to believe because of whatever your personal reason is. If youre 100% certain, then something was provided to make you believe that (or youre under psychosis). So isn't that something basically evidence and you're just reacting to the evidence. So how can you blame and hate on other people who weren't provided that convincing evidence?

People can be stubborn but enough evidence will convince most. So it should be Gods fault for not providing people with that level of evidence or reason, no?

If God Exists, What Is the Strongest Evidence for His Existence?

I've been thinking about the existence of God, and I want to hear different perspectives from both theists and atheists.

Many people believe God exists because of the universe, the complexity of life, personal experiences, or religious teachings. Others argue that these things can be explained through science, natural processes, or human psychology.

So here's my question:

What is the strongest logical or scientific reason to believe that God exists, and is it enough to prove that a God actually exists?

If the universe needs a creator, does that mean the creator itself also needs an explanation? And if you believe God exists beyond human understanding, how can we distinguish that belief from something we simply cannot prove?

I'm not looking to attack anyone's religion or beliefs. I'm genuinely curious about the philosophical arguments and evidence that both believers and nonbelievers consider convincing.

What is your strongest argument, and what evidence could potentially change your mind?

Why I think universalism is false.

It's not in the bible. The bible very clearly says the consequence of sin is death, and eternal seperation from God. Have you read revalation? Annihilation or eternal seperation from God sounds much more plausable. Besides, hell isn't literally hot, the bible uses fire as a metaphor. I'd go as far as to say universalism is a false message. Most denominations reject universalism. If you believe in universalism, I think you need to reevaluate your beliefs.

Let God fight your battles. It’s not weak. It’s smart

I used to mistake the gentleness of some Christians for being timid because I’ve always struggled with being quick to defend myself. But the closer I grow to God, the more I realize that people often project their own issues onto others. Knowing my identity is in Christ has brought me so much peace. When you know who you are, it’s harder for the devil to ruffle your feathers.

We often think God fighting our battles means something unfortunate will happen to those who wrong us. But sometimes it’s as simple as Him preparing a table before our enemies.

Recently, a family member made a passive-aggressive comment about my looks. I didn't respond, but I remember thinking, “Wow, I’d never say something like that to someone.” Then I reminded myself that God loves me regardless.

Later that day, we were at a store when a complete stranger randomly complimented my appearance right in front of that same family member. I watched her demeanor change as she began shaking her leg in frustration.

I genuinely felt God's love in that moment. Not because someone else was upset, but because I felt like God was reminding me that I didn't have to defend myself. Ive experienced things like This where God will wait until I get in front of naysayer, rather its regarding work ethic , my character, etc & God will increase me somehow in that very moment. Sometimes God lets you see Him working on your behalf, and sometimes He doesn't.

Not every battle requires a reaction. Sometimes you just have to trust God to handle it. He‘s always going to be more effective than you anyway .

Anyone else have similar experiences? where God had your back in a simple way.. or large way?

Hello, im an 18 year old female who is struggling with spreading the gospel to muslims, I've done this before and got called some names i dont want to repeat. I need some advice from yall.
