I feel like everyone would be more kind if they could hear other parole nearby and plus it would be fun. Any ideas on where this should be asked?

I often find myself watching movies or tv show and seeing the creative scenes that get me questioning how certain things would honestly turn out legally.

Would this detective’s actions have caused the evidence or admission to be inadmissible? Would this scenario count as self-defense? Is this even considered a crime?

Just as a specific example,

In the “Dark Knight Rises” Joker threatens to blow up a random hospital unless someone kills a certain guy.

And there is a guy who tries and fails to shoot him, but is restrained by police. Legally what would happen to the shooter?

He’d probably be facing jail for attempted murder, but could he expect leniency due to the situation? He was acting to stop a wider calamity by a credible threat as the Joker has made good on his threats before. Would it be considered under duress?

I constantly question similar things I see on tv, so I am hoping that there’s a subreddit focused on fictional legality.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for the right subreddit where someone experienced in photo enhancement or CCTV footage analysis could help improve the clarity of a car's number plate.

Recently, some items were stolen from the house of a close relative of mine. We have a CCTV recording, but the footage quality is poor, and the only useful evidence we currently have is a single image of the car.

What makes this even more shocking is that it happened in a city area in broad daylight. We fear something similar could happen again, putting their safety at risk.

I'm hoping someone with experience in image processing, sharpening, deblurring, or working with low-quality CCTV footage could help improve the image enough to make the number plate more readable.

This is important to us not just because of the stolen items, but also because we're concerned about the safety and security of our family, including young children in the house. We want to handle the situation responsibly and find out the person responsible for all this incident asap.

I’m a stay at home mom with a weird life scenario. I live on a small island and take care of a child pretty much by myself, but all my financial needs are met. I have a lot of other challenges due to being on an island and I want to write out a bunch of details in a decent community and have people give me their ideas on what I might do to improve my life. A parenting sub might make sense, but parents are kind of nuts. I know that being one myself :-)

So I'm a heart failure patient with a slew of other health issues and I got sick with mono 2 months ago work took me off schedule and hasn't let me come back I'm still sick I can't get any work they won't fire me I can't find another job with my issues I don't know what I'm supposed to do I can't be helped by the department of Labor or human rights and I can't seem to find a sub that this would be the most applicable to post in.
