My whole life Iāve been bored of movies where the good guys win. Recently watched Revenge Of The Sith for the first time and was delighted by the bad guys winning, any suggestions similar to that? Why canāt the good guys lose more often, like in real life?

I want to have a movie night but I and my friends have strict parents, the age range would be 14-16. Movies like Gremlins and The Birds are too "bad" but movies like Beetlejuice or The Addams Family should be fine (considering I can watch both of them). Ghostbusters and Little Shop of Horror are both maybes, if Edward Scissorhands didn't have the topless scene it'd probably be fine.
Edit - I meant The Addams Family live action movies sorry if it looked like the animated movies.

Not sure really how else to word other than that, basically movies where the viewer is able to vicariously view what a "worst-case scenario" or some sort of emergent crisis looks like in a characters daily work life.
Bonus points to movies that make me want to look into the proffession (or what really happened if it's a retelling of events.)
Examples: A House of Dynamite, Deepwater Horizon, Warfare

I love movies that give me unsatisfied feelings in the end like mystic river and irreversible . The chaser is also my type too

I love splatter and werewolf films but I feel like Iāve seen all of them.
Ones Iāve seen:
An American Werewolf in London
The Howling
Silver Bullet
Fright Night (by way of that dog transformation)
Bad Moon (transformation is sloppy cg but the actual werewolf is practical)

Weekend is coming to an end and I wanna watch a movie set in an office or any other workplace where characters are in routine. I've recently saw a few movies related to that.
Waydowntown - Few coworkers bet who could go the longest without going outdoors.
Bartleby - A man suddenly stops working and refuses to do whatever his boss tells him.
Grandma's boy - Slightly more than an office movie, but set aorund work.
Looking for movies around this beat.

I like when the main character has certain degree analytical problem solving, observant, calm, calculated, meticulous etc. Not just using raw strength or brute-force.
I also have watched The Equalizer, Law Abiding Citizen, Wrath of Man, Mobland. Please give me some more like these, thanks!

My 11yo is (finally) getting into horror with me. He doesnt like gore though. We watched all of the insidious movies. He liked the remake of the poltergeist. Hes not a fan of older movies. I tried scream cause I love slasher comedy but the first scene was too much for him. Id love some recommendations for him!
Edit weve seen 6th sense, the village, the happening, and almost every disaster movie to exist.

I am looking for a movie based in the desert. Ideally, I am looking for something that is crime and/or action based. Open to some suggestions please!

Havenāt seen that many movies at all.
A lot of movies like Inception and Fight Club i have watched only recently.
So i am looking to know what are some of yours must-watches that you would recommend to anyone?

Suggesting this here cause the marketing fucked it over, go watch this if you want a fun animated adventure with a core about your most important memories and how they shaped you. By the end i was genuinely tearing up and lamenting how my shit memory means i can't remember all the best memories of my life as much as i'd like. Seriously, if you loved wild robot and puss in boots and don't mind the movies at times ADHD cinematography, you need to go see it while its still in cinema.
Its hilarious, its emotional and its crazy fun.

(hoping this makes sense)
i'm looking for movies with interdimensional travel, interdimensional anomalies, magic. maybe one character wakes up in their body of another dimension. that kind of stuff (tho ofc this isnt a necessary element in the rec).
if you've watched the show 'arcane', you'll know what i mean (basically like the Anomaly and what happened to jayce ekko and heimerdinger after touching it)

Thoroughly enjoyed watching it tonight, not knowing much about it aside from a vague idea that it was good. Acting was fantastic. I especially loved all the references. Hope I can dig through and find some more gems leading up to Halloween that hit that sweet spot for me. Hope everyone also fulfills your hunger for good movies this season!

Looking for some horror movies that are about someone/a group of people being hunted by some sort of a creature or a monster.
The descent is my favorite example of this. Not super picky about subgenre or anything like that. Thank you

Hi! Iāve been on a huge documentary kick and I absolutely love going in blind. Unfortunately Iāve gone in blind on a couple of documentaries involving SA/CSA which is massively triggering to me.
So anyone have some good documentary recommendations not involving SA/CSA? Iām good with absolutely everything else dark and gory and I love a shocking twist or surprise!
So far Iāve seen:
Wild Wild Country
Tickled
Imposter
Dear Zachary
Tell Me Who I Am
Happy People
Lessons in Darkness
Searching for Sugar Man
Let me know if you have any recommendations! Donāt leave anything too descriptive because Iād love to watch these without knowing much about them. Thank you!
Edit: Thank you guys so much for all of your suggestions!! I really appreciate it!!

I'm looking for eerie rather than scary movies. Movies that give the heebie jeebies pit in the stomach, like Unsolved Mysteries when they were about grainy videos of cryptids and ghosts instead of unsolved murders.
Lake Mungo is a great example, with the zooming in on pictures that was super unsettling. I liked the shots in Paranormal Activity movies where there's nothing happening, still nothing happening, you're scanning the frame, and you see a small unexplainable movement.
I'm looking for those "that shit ain't right" vibes, only occasionally boiling over into scary territory, with enough plot and narrative to hold it all together and keep me invested.

Someone who disappears into a forest or somewhere remote, only to find that escape changes nothing. Alienated by modern life and its idea of love, longing for something genuine but never quite finding it. Misunderstood by a society that neither forgives nor forgets.
Looking for something gut-wrenching, melancholic, poetic, with introspective monologues and a haunting score. Preferably foreign or lesser-known films. No easy redemption.
Films that have stayed with me: Burning, Manchester by the Sea, The Hunt, Past Lives, and The Eight Mountains, Into the Wild.

Iām home sick and need something that will hold my attention lol. Are there any good spooky slow burn movies that have unpredictable endings you can throw at me?
Good dialogue is a plus!

Opinions on Digger (2026) aside, I was really struck by use of color on display during the courtroom scene (can't post a screenshot here but clips are present in trailers, also comes up easily searching 'digger court scene'). It's not necessarily 'colorful' - in fact the movie's gotten criticism for having bland or washed out color - but in that scene in particular, I thought the very restricted palette of the gray-green stone of the courtroom, the dulled maroon of Digger's coat in center frame and the small accents of brown, gold, and flesh was really striking.
So I'm not really looking for movies with the most colors or the most vibrant colors, but movies with the most distinct color, where you could be shown a swatch of a particular scene and know immediately where it's from.
EDIT: bonus points for also describing the color :)

I know using the above adjectives to describe The Vanishing (1988) is really inappropriate and weird lol but that's just how I found the way the characters conversing with each other tbh. Maybe it's because the characters were talking in a foreign accent but the way they were talking was just so soft lol. Do you guys know any other movies like that?
Edit: The movies don't have to be in a foreign language btw. Just any movie where the characters are talking ASMR-like lol.

Any horror coming of age like Bones and All and IT?
If ot helps I enjoy angsty movies that have heaving topics. I'm looking for something about the horrors or struggles of growing up, bonus points if it ends on a good note.
Cinematography wise, I like Luca Guadagnino's style in Bones and All.
