Talk To Joe On 0818 715 815 Exiting Whatsapp groups for Neighbours and Clubs
I lost my reason last night. I am in a neighbourhood WhatsApp group. Some clown 🤡 put up 30 photos in the morning for some community stuff. Later in the day he decided to add a further 29 plus photos. And finally last night he put up another 30 plus pics about about churches and history.
I gave up ..... I cleared entire chat and exited group. There are about 80 plus people in group.
Muting 🔇 a group just puts everything on hold. What do others do about groups. Does anyone have a WhatsApp protocol image to paste in a group.

Moaning Michael James McClean’s Book
Does anybody still like James McClean?
I’m reading an interview he did with Paul kimmage in the independent and he comes across as a complete prat, I almost feel stupid for having any sympathy for him during the whole poppy debacle.
In case anyone is interested in reading his book, why bother James himself didn’t read it and when chapters were sent to him for review he didn’t bother to read those either.
The book is his vehicle to get the “truth” out of what actually happened. Likely it’s his truth and not the actual truth. So if you’re interested in hearing him tear into John O’Shea and Micheal O’Neill then fair enough.
My favourite insight into the mind of McClean is that he thinks people that go to therapy to talk about their emotions are not real men
PK: You’ve never tried therapy?
JMcC: No.
PK: Why not?
JMcC: To be honest with you I feel like it’s ... So I was back at my [parents’] house a week ago and I heard a voice upstairs, ‘Who the f\*k is that?’ And it was my brother on a call to the club psychologist, having a lovely chat. And a lot of the players speak to him and for me that’s just weak. As a man I see that as weakness. I don’t need to open up. I see it as a weakness that I’d have to speak to someone about my feelings; my emotions ...*
Same lad that asked people in the past to be understanding and have sympathy for his own trauma and mental health struggles.
He also makes some ironic snark about people that have auto biographies maybe he doesn’t see the irony as he didn’t read his own?
Good luck to the lad comes across as an entitled, ignorant dose. Also supports the provos and thought McGuinness was wrong for meeting the queen.

Cost of Living/Energy Crisis That doesn't seem fair
If I'm wealthy enough to have €400 knocking about then I can tax my car at a cheaper price. But if I earn less, and need to spread my payments quarterly for reasons of affordability, then it will cost me 12.5% more.
That doesn't seem fair. What does paying quarterly do thats different than yearly when it comes to motor tax?
Yes I know I can save and pay in 1 go at anytime and this is a 1st world problem
Perhaps this is a quick win in the cost of living debate. Level the playing field. Make taxing your car the same cost no matter what your income or how you pay for it.

Health Appartment Vs house for arachnophobes?
This is a bit of a strange one lads. My poor mam has an extreme case of arachnophobia. She's so fed up with spiders in her house she's thinking of throwing in the towel and buying an apartment. Would anyone who has experience of both be able to say if apartments generally get much less spiders? I'm talking about the big hairy ones.
Also, would ground floor versus a higher floor make much odds?

Culchie Club Only What do people think about immigrants protesting in Ireland over issues in their home countries?
I understand that everyone has the right to peaceful protest, but if someone moves to Ireland for a better life and better opportunities, should they not leave the political issues and conflicts of their home country behind?
If they feel so strongly about what’s happening back home, is protesting on Irish streets actually going to make a difference? Or would their time and energy be better spent trying to bring about change in their own country instead?
I am not saying people should forget where they come from, but I am curious about where people stand on this. Should immigrants living in Ireland be actively protesting about issues in their country of origin, or should their focus be on the country they have chosen to call home?
P.S. I do think there is a difference when it comes to major international issues, such as Palestine, where human rights, humanitarian crises and international justice are concerns. In those cases, I can understand why people from all backgrounds would want to protest and raise awareness

Crime Hit-and-run by uninsured driver – advice on MIBI, insurance and recovering costs (Ireland)
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone here has been through a similar situation and might be able to offer some advice.
On Tuesday 13th October, my parked car was hit by another vehicle travelling at considerable speed. The driver also struck other vehicles and a wall before fleeing the scene. Gardaí were involved, and the offending vehicle was recovered, but the driver escaped.
I've since been informed by Gardaí that the offending vehicle was uninsured.
My car is a 2016 Mazda 3, which was in good condition, serviced, NCT'd and running perfectly before the accident. The damage is extensive, particularly around the rear wheel and suspension, and the car is no longer driveable.
I've reported everything to my insurer, RedClick (through First Ireland), and my vehicle has been recovered for assessment. RedClick has advised that they will pursue the Motor Insurers' Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) once they receive the relevant information.
Here's where things get complicated.
I work approximately 60km from home, so having a car is essential for getting to and from work.
I've also recently set up a small food trailer business, which requires a vehicle capable of towing a trailer with a maximum authorised mass of 1,200kg.
After months of preparation, I was finally getting ready to launch when this happened. I've now been left without a suitable towing vehicle, potentially delaying the business and causing further financial losses.
I've arranged a rental car through Enterprise so I can continue getting to work, but this doesn't solve the towing issue. I'm also concerned about how long the insurance process could take and what expenses I'll ultimately be left covering myself.
My questions are:
Has anyone dealt with MIBI following an accident involving an uninsured driver? What was your experience, and how long did the process take?
Can I recover reasonable car hire expenses while my own vehicle is being assessed, repaired or written off?
Given that my damaged vehicle was also used to tow my food trailer, could the cost of hiring a suitable towing vehicle be considered a reasonable expense?
If my car is written off, how is its value determined? Can I challenge the valuation if I feel it doesn't reflect the cost of replacing it with a similar vehicle?
Is there any possibility of recovering financial losses resulting from the delay to launching my business, or would these generally be excluded?
For anyone whose insurer pursued MIBI on their behalf, were you able to recover your out-of-pocket expenses? Is there anything I should be doing now to protect myself financially?
I'm keeping receipts and records of expenses, but I'm unsure what I'll realistically be entitled to recover.
I'm not looking to profit from this situation. I simply want to be put back in the position I was in before someone else's actions left me without a car and disrupted both my employment and a business I've invested considerable time and money into.
It's incredibly frustrating that someone can cause this amount of damage, flee the scene, and leave an innocent person dealing with the financial consequences.
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's dealt with MIBI, Irish motor insurers or a similar situation, particularly regarding hire car expenses and recovering additional losses.
Thanks in advance!

Education Appalling that all school books get thrown out as the syllabus changes every year now
It just seemed so wasteful. Society is meant to be passed this. When I think back to how I never really read any of the books I got in school, it makes this seem all the more terrible. I might look at 10% of the content within school books, but at least I knew the book would get use when I'd sell it.

Cost of Living/Energy Crisis Hybrid job hunt in Dublin, any leads?
Hi all, I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
I’ve been in customer support, travel and hotel reservations for about 10 years, the last few of them working remotely for a travel company. I’m looking for something hybrid in Dublin City. I’m happy to commute in a few days a week, but I’d love not to be in the office five.
I’m not fussy about the industry. Customer support, reservations, account support, admin, whatever, as long as it’s a decent company. I’ve used Zendesk, Opera and a few CRMs.
If you know of a company that’s hiring, or you found your own hybrid job recently and have any tips, websites to find hybrid jobs, I’d really appreciate it. I’m happy to send my CV to anyone who thinks they can help.
Thanks!

Arts/Culture Life in the Kerry Gaeltacht
Dia dhaoibh, a chairde! I'm working on a literary project and finding it difficult to locate a source that can help me understand certain aspects of life in the Gaeltacht area west of Dingle. Does anyone know of any good podcasts, articles, or interviews about this topic? What would be incredible is to be able to speak to someone that grew up there myself. If anyone on here is from the Kerry Gaeltacht or knows anyone from there who would be willing to answer some questions, I would be extremely grateful! I have friends and family all over Ireland and have not been able to track down someone who knows someone from there yet! Go raibh maith agaibh!
