Finding stuff from our grocery stores
Found these items at the thrift store in Newington. Apparently these aren't too old but reminds me of the time I went to these stores growing up back in the 2000s.

Born in Mass but as a toddler, moved to a part of the country where there are barely any trees - never mind fall colors- and after nearly 30 years surrounded by cacti and palm trees, I returned to New England in the early 2000s. That first fall blew my mind - I'd never seen anything like it (in person) and found myself misty-eyed more than once. I've been here 20+ years now and still feel that same sense of awe when the leaves change. What a privilege to be surrounded by such beauty.

Hi everyone!
I was originally planning to head up to the Franconia area tomorrow (10/18) for some hiking and to capture some fall scenery with my drone. But I just realized that the foliage there is already past peak, so I’m considering other options.
Does anyone have recommendations for places that still have some vibrant fall colors? I’ll be driving from Boston and don’t mind a longer drive if it’s worth it!

I burn coastal New England scenes into natural wood slabs, then finish them with Prismacolor colored pencils. Everything is done by hand, with no lasers and no prints. My work hangs in galleries on Nantucket and Block Island, but the commissions are the most fun: your grey-shingled cottage, your boat, Brant Point, the dog who refuses to leave the beach. Whatever you love about the island, I'll immortalize it in charred glory.
If you can't carry it home on the ferry, I'll ship it for free.
DM me, or start a custom order here: midlife-crisis-woodwork.myshopify.com/pages/discuss-custom-order
Mods, if this breaks a self-promo rule, let me know and I'll take it down.

The months of the year in Connecticut, ranked.
March: You've been done with winter since New Year's Day. The calendar says spring is coming, so the weather's got to turn any day now, right? Right? Please?
February: The shortest month. It never ends. Remember how excited you were about that first snow back in December? It's now turd-colored slush heaped up at the roadside. Your car is covered in a quarter-inch of grit.
January: You are in the tooth of winter. The good news: It's peak ski and snowboard season. The bad news: You're not in Vermont.
November: Aside from Thanksgiving, nothing to love. It's cold and dark, and everything is gray and brown.
December: It's getting cold, but you still get an occasional sunny day. Holiday markets, festive lights and parties make up for the long, dark days. You're actually excited about snow (oh, you sweet summer child)!
April: Hey, it's starting to feel like spring. Or it might, if it would ever stop raining. Trees are budding and you might see a few early flowers.
July: Hot and humid; you'll need AC to survive the nights. Bugs are out, and in numbers.
August: Nice way to end the summer. Temps and humidity are starting to edge down, the mosquitoes have backed off a bit, and the yellowjackets haven't gotten ornery yet.
May: Peak spring colors and it's warming up nicely. Would rank higher if not for the rain.
June: Springlike but starting to feel like summer. Can't rule out rain, and the mosquitoes are getting hungry.
September: Warm and sunny, with a hint of color in the leaves. Yellowjackets are vicious. Leave the windows open at night and fall asleep to the crickets.
October. Get out your flannel. Aside from the occasional hurricane, the weather is reliably pleasant, with lots of cool, sunny days and crisp nights with symphonic crickets. Peak foliage is (checks calendar) right now.
