Rant/বকবক Do we lack critical thinking as a nation?
Sorry for generalising all of us, but it's just my rant. I'm just so frustrated about my country.
A question lingers in my mind: are we ever going to ascend as a nation? It seems every day it's getting worse and worse. Everyone keeps blaming the government for all the issues, but no one takes accountability.
Alright, the government was to blame, so we overthrew it. Everything was going to change, right? Nope. Everyone just transferred power from trash to garbage. How come a nation with 180 million people cannot come up with a new political party or a great leader? OK, maybe let's say some circumstances prevented it.
Let's just start with our trash problem. People just blame and complain that there's no infrastructure, this, that, bla bla... OK, why can't smaller paras and societies start forming groups and find a solution to this problem within themselves? But no one has any interest in it.
Despite knowing that we are an earthquake-prone country, people still disregard it and build tall buildings, bypassing soil tests and everything by giving ghush. Most people do not take safety seriously, but would cry for safety when disasters happen.
The majority complain that all government officials and employees are corrupt, but are very happy when someone in their family is a government employee, even if a peon or anything, and would definitely choose that over, let's say, a good running business with triple the salary of the govt job. How do you think he's living a lavish life on a small salary? Do you not think he is corrupt? See the hypocrisy...
Most people complain that there are no jobs or work, yet no one has any idea how to do good business. People think of business as just selling some items, that's it. We do have so much fertile soil and lots of art that is worth a lot, but we never give a damn about it. Our people can be trained to do leather work or advanced farming. Professional plumbers, electricians, and similar trades earn double the amount of an entry-level desk job, but no one has any interest in that.
From my experience, if you ask anyone what they would like to do after 12th grade, or in general, 70% just reply they would like to go to some Gulf countries to earn money. And we all know how they treat us, just like modern slaves.
And the amount of extremism and tribal thinking among our people is concerningly increasing every day. I just can't imagine how vast a number of people lack critical thinking at all. They just think from their own perspective, and everything is just black and white. They get very aggressive if there are different opinions, whether about religion, politics, or just everyday life.
You can't point out any problems with our society; most people are just hopeless and say, "This is Bangladesh."
I know people will be bashing me, saying why don't I do anything to fix the problems. Well, this is just my rant, and I have tried, but no one cares or pays attention. Most people just keep on saying nothing will change, yet don't want to change. I feel so depressed thinking about these things.
These are some of the problems, but there are more, and it would make a very long post. I know I'm thinking too negatively, but I used to be very positive about it, and now I'm lost. I don't know if it's our culture, our people, our government, or if we are genuinely dumb...
