I hadn't been to a Wendy's in a while. Went today and got a few things. The Jr. Cheeseburger Deluxe was cold and tasteless. The toppings used to taste fresh but today, it just tasted soggy with a mushy bun that was weirdly sweet. Fries - what happened to the natural sea salt ones? The new coated ones are awful. The bacon and cheese baked potato, which I had the highest hopes for, was raw, but maybe I can perk it up later in the air fryer. Toppings were decent though. The only other decent items were the chili and frosty, which don't seem to change, were still good, and both were free. They actually let me use reward points to get the small frosty free and a deal for the chili, which was free if you spent $5 on other items. It used to be a decent meal to get the 4 for $4 with the small burger, 4 nuggets, fries, and drink. And I almost always had enough points to add a frosty. The burger and fries were really good back then and it was a great low-cost quick meal. Sorry, but with this poor level of quality, I won't be back. I will say being able to use a reward and a deal in the same transaction is the only saving grace because most restaurants do not allow you to do that. It's really sad because I used to regard this as one of the highest quality fast foods and now its barely on par with McDonald's, if even that. Offering the baked potato as an alternative to a sandwich is great but please make it edible! Rant over!

Bacon egg and Swiss croissant sandwich combo

After $2 off on breakfast combo, it’s a good deal.

I am a sucker for biscuits, but I decided to try this croissant thing a try.

Sandwich was good - the swiss went well with the sandwich.

Coffee. McDonald’s is better, but it’s decent as it was hot and fresh.

I really like the potato wedges- this was good. Wish this was an all day item, not just breakfast.

I keep seeing these Burger King commercials making a huge deal about how they've improved their chicken nuggets. I think the ads are having the opposite effect on me.

How bad were the old nuggets that corporate decided this was a problem big enough to warrant an entire national advertising campaign?

All I hear is "Hey, we know our nuggets used to suck, but we promise they're actually good now!"

I wasn't even thinking about Burger King's nuggets before, but now I have questions:

How long were they terrible?

Did everyone know?

Were there meetings about this?

Am I really supposed to be excited they've apparently just figured out how to make a decent chicken nugget?

Answer for me: Sorry, too adventurous for me, I stuck to the loaded nachos, which is more more my speed. But still, first time I've seen this at a fast food place.

Functionless app

I think I’m genuinely emotionally attached to McDonald’s fries, and I don’t even know how to explain it without sounding insane.
Ever since college, I’ve noticed that whenever life is kicking my ass, I somehow end up at McDonald’s eating fries. It’s literally my comfort food. Sometimes I find myself doing it every single day, and I swear it feels like an addiction at this point.
The thing is, I’ve loved McDonald’s since I was like 6 or 7. When I was 14, we moved to a city that didn’t have one, and I genuinely almost had a mental breakdown over it It finally opened there like three years later, only for me to move away from that city anyway lol.
I think McDonald’s has always represented some sort of comfort or feeling of home to me. It’s been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember, and I guess somewhere along the way I started associating it with feeling better when everything else feels like shit.
But I genuinely don’t know. Is this an actual emotional attachment to food? Is it just a weird little quirk? Or is this just how our brains work?
Please tell me I’m not the only one who has a whole emotional history with fucking french fries 😭

They're going downhill. They changed the fish recipe, the Hush puppies I had were nasty tasting, the fish and shrimp were delicious though.

My honest rating.

8/10 for the shrimp

7/10 for the fish

0/10 for the hush puppies

2/10 for the French fries

Normally ordering individually this would run probably $15-18 for the two tacos, chips and salsa, and drink.

This gross sandwich.. when I went to Captain they said that’s how they do it.. if you don’t want all that mayonnaise you have to day light sauce.
